Artworks for Libraries Interviews
During Book Week Scotland 2014 we teamed up with Scottish Book Trust to transform a number of Scottish libraries. As part of Book Week Scotland 2014, five artists created new and dynamic artworks for five different libraries across Scotland. Each artwork took inspiration from the poem, 'Dear Library' by Jackie Kay, specially commissioned by Scottish Book Trust for Book Week Scotland 2014. The piece explores the inner world of the library through different eyes and different generations. The artworks not only transformed the libraries into more vibrant places to be within and gave them a new lease of life, they also inspired readers, writers and book lovers all over the country.
In this series of interviews, a variety of people involved in the project talk about how Artworks for Libraries has helped five libraries become more visible and more valued within their communities.
