Today’s giveaway comes thanks to the brilliant @christinekalafus who imagines creative ideas floating like bubbles on the wind, some of them slipping in her window, landing on her at her writing desk. @elizabethgilbert has shared a similar idea, as have a famous songwriter or two whose names escape me at the moment. Thanks to Christine, whose  sweet drawing could just as easily illustrate creative ideas floating out her window into the world, I am struck with the thought that maybe we are all sources bubbling with creative brilliance. Maybe our creativity works like comic improv, a giant game of “Yes, and” where we receive but also elaborate and pass on. Bent over our private writing desks and easels and guitars, we are together in play. And maybe the un-caught ideas just keep traveling slowly over the landscape, growing larger and more diffuse but no less powerful as they go, permeating everything… Today’s art giveaway (number 18, I believe) is a thank you to all risk sharing their truths, their complete and also half-formed ideas, their unassailable and also their imperfect visions, their rough-draft jokes and riffs and verse and scribbles, as well as their masterpieces.
