Whenever the two of you go out to eat and your food takes a while to arrive – especially if the poor guy is already hungry – he tends to eat so fast that he chokes on his food. It’s endearing in a way and definitely hilarious in the moment, but you always scold him as he chugs water with a bright red face and his chest heaving.Â
He’s the type of person to talk to animals and inanimate objects. Not in a cutesy baby voice, but using his normal tone and intonation to carry on a one-sided conversation. You often overhear him in the mornings speaking to the birds and squirrels at your bird feeders outside, or to the farm animals when he thinks you’re not listening. As if the sparrows that frequented your bird feeders knew anything about Solorian Chronicles.
He’s clumsy. Probably one of the clumsiest people that you’ve ever met. Several times you’ve witnessed him slip and fall in an almost cartoonish way because of how absurd and over-exaggerated it is. But somehow, he always escapes fairly unscathed, with his ego taking a majority of the bruising.
Although he would never think so and you would never tell him, at times Sam comes off as desperate. This is one of many things that you find endearing about him, however – the way he doesn’t try to hide the way he craves your attention. As soon as he realized that his feelings for you were reciprocated, Sam wasn’t afraid to show you in the corniest, cheesiest ways possible. He begs for your attention, he’ll be over-the-top dramatic when you playfully reject him or deny him of something, he’ll cling to you both literally and metaphorically. It’s all in good fun, and the playful twinkle in his eye when he does something performative to get your attention is undeniably adorable.
In a similar vein, he always wants to show off for you, and show you off. Think of the whole, “this is for you babe,” and completely missing the shot. That pretty much sums up Sam’s attention seeking. This is emphasized whenever the two of you are around his friends or family.
Cries very easily, over stuff that doesn’t seem even remotely emotional. When he wipes his eyes and nose, his skin turns red and puffy easily, and he’s left a flushed, blubbering mess over a video of a dog with a guitar.
Too gullible and too trusting and smitten with you at times to fall for your pranks. Any jokes or pranks centered around you doing something suspicious fly over his head because of how much he trusts you. To be fair, any jokes or pranks period often fly over his head – you learned quickly that Sam eats his snacks too fast to realize the flavoring has been tampered with. And that he actually quite enjoys Oreos with toothpaste replacing the cream.
Doesn’t know how to tie his own shoes. All of his shoes are loose enough where he can slip them on and off without untying them.Â
He loves to be babied by you. Whether it’s the two of you alone in his bedroom cuddling, or you come to visit him at one of his shifts at JojaMart and he begs for kisses behind the display of Joja Cola. He’ll whine and bury his face in your chest as you praise him and tell him how proud of him you are, and he’ll melt at your cooing.Â
Sam loves to use his tongue – to randomly lick you. The two of you will just be cuddling, and out of nowhere you’ll feel something warm and wet on your shoulder or down the length of your arm.
