Creative Project: everyday life in the mundane and the spontaneous
William Kori R. Cunanan
What is a traditional barong?
A barong is a formal menswear showcasing intricately woven sheer textiles that presents distinct patterns in every piece. A means of clothing that displays the language of complexity and uniqueness, as it is a form of art that varies in every form and concept.
Title: Shirt for Men Origin: Mindanao, Philippines Materials: Textile Dimensions: 70cm x 158cm Provenance: Jose Rizal, collector Collection: Ethnological Museum of Berlin ( Ethnologisches Museum Berlin) “Shirt for Men,” Mapping Philippine Material Culture, accessed March 19, 2023, https://philippinestudies.uk/mapping/items/show/29013.
“Shirt for Men” expresses the image of formalism and cultural development, the means of sifting through the patterns of its beauty and imposing a sort of quality that spells manners and respect. Looking at this piece of traditional barong, I think that the concept that lies within its threads is all about how art expresses itself as a language. An unspoken language that can be felt and perceived through the lens of its beholder.
Finding the truth is a means of refuge, a shelter to reveal your true self, a shelter to express your truest and purest thoughts, and a shelter to be within the balance of life. It is an act of unveilment that shows one’s true colors to the world, it opens up your mind to the truths of society and relieves your life-long burdens and regrets.

Showcase Alvaro Barrington's Do It campaign
The content is all about Alvaro Barrington’s Do It campaign entry, it involves a message to find the truths of one’s life and to express a broader range when it comes to finding one’s truth and the truth of others. With his work, I think that the concepts of Mis/Translations represent perfectly the means of his work, the misconceptions that involve finding the truth in today’s online environment, and the notion of mistranslating information and facts that affects society.
One Man, One Tree
The tree stood tall, so proud and grand, A symbol of life, in nature's hand. But the man came with saw in tow, His heart set on making the tree let go.
A glimpse into the history of the old, the start of a revolution and evolution that ultimately led to the creation of the never-ending period of elimination.

Tumblr Posts:
The Cycle of Exploitation: A Man and a Tree In line with the topic of anthropogenic issues, the content that I want to present is a digital photo manipulation of a man and a tree representing the cycle of human exploitation and misuse of nature. Wherein the blank background and the grainy overlay of the artwork foreshadow the reality of human activities against nature, the continuous misuse of natural resources, the deterioration of the world, and the cycle of humans’ desire for power and wealth.
