2: Making out with a stranger

Simon has a tried and mostly proven way of getting over break ups: sleeping with someone else. Although there's not a single part of him that thinks he can actually get over Kieren by sleeping with this guy, some stranger who's only rolling through town because they caught wind of one of the undead parties -- he's a distraction, and honestly a pleasant one, nothing like Kieren at all.

He's taller than Simon, about as broad, and he pushes Simon's back into a wall and kisses him like he has no interest in ever stopping to ask Simon's name. Which, for Simon, works, and he presses up against him, so they're chest to chest, barely any air between them. This guy kisses like he knows exactly where this is going and what Simon wants, and Simon's just starting to get the wanted, crawling heat in the pit of his belly

--- when he sees the copper hair out the corner of his eye, breaks away from the guy, startled, somehow ashamed even though he probably has every right to be here, although - maybe he doesn't -

“Let’s just stay here for a little while.”

                Simon jumps, his knee banging at the underside of the                 table; no matter how much time goes by, Kieren always                 has his ways of taking Simon completely by surprise -
