Memories from London 🇬🇧We miss Art galleries and the beautiful art of London. We love sketching in the museums and it is the greatest weekend activity with kids I think! Get into the art, learn about artists, get into artist atmosphere and practice drawing 👩🏻🎨I hope we go to London soon and enjoy it's arty life. Share your favourite activity for the weekend. Do you enjoy visiting Art galleries? What galleries do you recommend in your city? #mumblogger #london #art #artmuseum #georgiaokeeffe #artmom #artmum (at London, United Kingdom)
Continued family art/times! Screen printing and engaging in workshops has been really motivational. It’s getting colder and darker now and if you look closely you might sneak a peek of my slipppers. Even in the cabin they’re my new added essentials (alongside the baby monitor) to take out with me. This week I tried to organise my creativity. Which is a challenge in itself. My husband can pick up his guitar and play/write anywhere, anytime (around the kids routines of course). My creative outlet is a lot more messy and physically produces stuff/art work. Sometimes taking a step back and looking at work you have achieved so far is actually progress. Working on pieces for the fun of it produces a lot of work. My intention to exhibit can only happen if there is somewhere to exhibit!! So I have now made contact with a lovely cafe in Norwich to try and set a deadline. Only then will make work take real shape. Watch this space.
How do I move on from experimentation? Sitting here. Feeding the baby her bed time feed. Typing one handed. Listening to the other child play himself to sleep while the husband is on the evening training course. That's my life on Tuesday's. I am grateful. Very grateful. This weekend we were all sick so time stopped still for a couple of days. Despite the actual symptoms we experienced, watching films and scoffing biscuits wasn't too bad. It makes you realise how rushed every day normally is when you just stop. Today, recovery day 2 from school, I peeled Rufus off the sofa to go into the cabin. The persuading conversation was led by promising to print baby Trudy's feet! We had done ours a long time ago but never had the right moment to do Trudy. Although there was no daddy around (cleaning back up!)I had to grab this spark that Rufus was offering. He had been on the sofa for a long time! Prepped with wipes, towels, paint, paper and a bucket of warm soapy water we set ourselves up. Rufus loves the cabin. He knows it's a special place which is really important. He painted Trudy's feet singing away, "painting your feet, we are painting your feet, yum yum, painting your feet!" Trudy put up with this throughout yellow and orange but was definitely fed up as the pink was mixed. Nap time. Once she was settled I asked Rufus if he wanted to do some drawing while I did some "work". I find this difficult. I love creating with him but also want to leave him to do things for himself and by himself. He did it for a little while then wanted my attention back. 2days off school with a sickness bug has left him a little lonely. By the end of our session we managed, a mini collage, a sand sculpture, 2 big drawings and lots of baby foot prints. Not a bad sick day. On a serious note though I am starting to think that I need to find a direction. Too many options not enough results. Half term is coming and I aim to contact a couple of cafes to book an exhibition date. Good kick up the bum helps everyone. Nothing like a deadline to push things along. Just what I need. Screen printing part 2 tomorrow night. Go go go!!!
