So June 10th marks the anniversary of my art blog, and what I really feel is the anniversary of when I started to formally create digital art.
Technically, I started creating art in May 2018: I posted a good deal of backlog on Tumblr and other SNS once I got my courage together in June. (And also stopped hating my iPad; the shift to digital was… not easy for me.)
It’s still a bit shocking that a full year has passed, that last year, I wasn’t creating and… here I am, still creating, still growing, and now, extending my skills back into traditional art and into pixel art & spriting.
(And naturally, still really having a lot of fun!)
Today, as a little bit of a celebration for myself, I decided to look back on twelve images over the last year starting in May and ending with a recent picture drawn just Sunday. It was surprisingly hard to choose just one for each month: even though my style has radically changed -for the better, I think- I still really love all my beginning art. But, I chose things that I think show the flow of my art up until now, and how much everything has really evolved.
I can’t imagine where I’ll be next year: I know wherever I end up, I’ll still be loving creating. Hopefully next year’s spread will include pixel art: I’m really eager to jump in and get to creating 8bit designs and seeing how far I can push the medium.
