Artist Post- Bill Cunningham
William J Cunningham is an 86 year old fashion photographer for The New York Times, known for his candids and street photography.
Cunningham photographs people and the passing scene in the streets of Manhattan every day, focusing on their genuine usage of clothing to express personal style. He is known not to overly photograph celebrities (like paparazzi would) or people that use fame to showcase clothing they did not originally pick themselves (sponsored, free clothing).
He has made a career taking unexpected photographs of everyday people, socialites and fashion personalities, many of whom value his company.
He has his own documentary made in 2010 “Bill Cunningham New York”

Artist Inspiration/Research
Louise Fili
Fili an American Graphic designer was born on April 12 1951. She received a bachelor of science in studio art from skid more college in 1972, she also briefly attended SVA.
Sh opened her own studio, Louise Fili Ltd in 1989 where she specialized in restaurant identities and food packaging. she has designed for many New York eateries such as Picholine, Artisinal, THe mermaid Inn etc and has created packaging for Sarabeth’s, Tate’s and Bellas Cucina.
She also has authored and co-authored many books, many of them with her husband, design historian Steven Heller.
She has taught in SVA for over 20 years.
I really enjoy looking at Louise Fili designs, she creates a beautiful vintage looking designs which you just can't help to gaze and admire at.

Irma Boom
Dutch-born Irma Boom is widely recognized as one of the worlds foremost book designers, and is the youngest person ever to receive the prestigious Gutenberg Prize for a body of work.
studied graphic design, and since 1992 she has been a critic at Yale University.
Has made over 300 books, 100 of which are in permanent collection of the MoMa in NYC.
Its nice to see how many of her book are really distinguished by her experimental approach and her willingness to take designs risks.
