What a nice surprise today to find that my painting, "Queens Road West" won First Place at the Guild of Charlotte Artists Winter show in Matthews, NC. It was such an honor, as the voting was done by fellow Guild members, and there were so many great pieces. You will find a variety of work in this show--watercolor, ceramics, pen and ink, oil and acrylics. Finished my final painting for this weekends Lakeland Art Guild art show. I like my happy whale friend. The lighting doesn't catch the glitter bubbles I painted under her. Dangit. Michaels art store has basically become like a crack house to me. I visit them daily. Spend money I dont have and the results give me a high. I saw some really odd sized canvases and gave 'em a go. Arylic on 4 x 9 canvas. And I know I said the whalr was gonna be my final painting but i did just start a giraffe on another 4 x 9 canvas and I think it's going places.
