I Wanted To Draw A Princess - May 31, 2026
Started as drawing a Princess Boov and ended up with a castle around her that features the cold, blue outside.
Day 30 of @birbfest.challenge - Oystercatcher!
Again, is yesterday’s birb, but I knew I wanted to end the challenge with the oystercatcher. It's one of my favourite birbs and I miss them!
The birbfest challenge was great. I wanted to use it as a starting point to not only learn gouache, but also to explore and play with a looser style. It worked. I am so happy with these initial pieces, and will most certainly be doing more mixed media pieces going forward. Also, gouache is AMAZING. Thank you to @sprouts_pup for encouraging me to give them a try. Love. ❤️
Yeees, i'm painting this on demand!

"FURBZILLA.” 2023. mixed media on illustration board. 12 in. x 9 in.
i am very excited to share my piece titled "FURBZILLA"! recently, i've developed a fondness for furbys, but i've noticed that people tend to have strong opinions about them. some fear them, while others love them. this inspired me to showcase these contrasting feelings through my art.
in this piece, i illustrated a giant furby, as large as godzilla, towering over buildings while cars race away in panic. it symbolizes the two perspectives people have: those who dislike furbys may see them as terrifying, while fans might view them as adorable and friendly. the furby could be wanting a hug and a friend, or it could be perceived as a monstrous creature ready to attack!
overall, i am thrilled with this piece. i had a lot of fun illustrating something i enjoy!
