This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing curator and artist Daniela Ramos Arias from artfolk. Our shoot took place in the darkest time of the year, and yet some precious sun rays graced us the few hours it had. I had never met Daniela before, I just knew her from her work and when she asked me for portraits I gladly said YES! First of all I loved the reasons she was getting the portraits, I wish everyone was as forthcoming as Daniela when it came to expectations from the shoot! While photographing her, she reminded me so much of why I do what I do - meeting amazing and inspiring people and get to do the honor to portray them. For me this is a rewarding exchange of trust, excitement and expecatitions that I always become really invested in and that I never seem to get tired of. When I send off a body of work to the person I photographed, there is such a huge vulnerability taking place. I am very grateful to be in this position and particulary when both sides are happy with what came out of the shoot we have done!
