this ask made me realize I made way more than I thought. I had a BG3 playthrough where I decided to make a Drow who's technically Seldarine (to give me the good/moral dialogue options) but who used to be Lolth-sworn before becoming a Paladin of Seluné (Shadowheart romance, ofc).

33. do you start with the characters or the plot when writing?

with fanfic, generally plot since the characters are often already worked out for me (with mostly rare OC exceptions). with original work, though, I usually start off with a character, character dynamic, and/or worldbuilding concept, after which point I construct Situations in which to put them.

35. tell us about a character who’s very different than you who you love a whole lot

the (arguable) protagonist of an original fantasy WIP of mine who's openly argumentative and combative. this is partially because it makes character interactions more interesting but also because I love exploring the intersection between that sort of personality and more internal characteristics, like courage, shame, spite, etc. how much of this is posturing? how much is legitimate outrage at a lack of justice? how do they interact with the characters who are either more laid back or pushovers (i.e., more like me)?
