Time management for artists. How to manage your time when you drawing if you have full time job. When I started my Digital drawing course in artcraft, I faced with catastrophic lack of time to do my drawing practice. Two weeks of sleepless nights with my tablet led me to understanding that I really need to control my time.   Let’s go! Take a sketchbook and draw 7 squares – this is our week. Down bellow write everything you want to draw\to practice\tutorials to watch etc. for next week. Opposite to each task wrote count how much time it will take (roughly). I separate my tasks into blocks for example: challenge participation, class work, regular warm ups, homework, sketches from still life etc. Then I summarize time of the tasks in each block and than total time. Let’s back to our week-days squares. In each day write down how much free time do you have to draw. Compare this numbers with your week tasks and scatter them by days. Also I reserve 1-2 more extra hours for force major situations. Now just stick to the list, honestly do your tasks, from time to time accelerate yourself and 95% of the list will be done at the end of the week) Enjoy!

So, the first week of Digital Drawing for Beginners course from @artcraft.school is successfully passed!

Studying process has a good structure: each lesson is dedicated to a separate topic with deep explanation and homework helps to master it.

It’s all about lines – that’s what about was the first lesson. The line types, weight, how, where and when to use it. All theory made as pre-recorded videos which you can watch during the week. But they made an interesting thing I never seen before: during the lecture @wild_wild_kot_sx shows some examples, than stops and now you have to repeat the same – and do it right now! In this way implemented class work and you are involved in it with no excuses that you’re just watching a tutorial with cup of coffee in your favorite pajama with turtles. No time to explain, draw this thing now!

At the end of the second part of practice if you can’t draw this damned straight line on your tablet, you will! There are lots of different exercises designed to help your arms to feel the stylus and tablet and practice different types of lines: drawing geometric shapes, organic leaves, rectangles and even calligraphy. After 8 pages all covered with this thing my hand was crying and shaking. But then my stylus started create magic and I easily finished the rest of homework: draw 15 objects based on primitives from draft sketch to clean line. And of course a feedback online meeting. Vitaliy opened homework of every student, looked it very carefully and made overpaint for all mistakes we made. There are a lot of things to think about and improve yourself. Summarizing all written above I like this course. During my past 3 years self-taught art practice that’s what I needed: intense structured theory and practice + detailed feedback sessions. 😊 Let’s see where it will lead) Next week 2 feedback will come soon)
