My mom and I used to watch this show on TV called Star Circle Quest when I was still a kid – about 7 or 8 years old (3rd or 4th grade). We used to watch it every time it’s on. Some of the contestants of the first season were Joross Gamboa, Roxan Ginoo, Neri Naig. And #2NE1’s Sandara Park. That season, the winner was Hero Angeles. To be honest, he was my favorite from the audition period besides Dara, but I never thought that he would win. I was his fan back then, especially when he and Dara starred on some movies together, they were fun to watch.

And now, 12 years later, I am now 20 years old and already in my 5th year in college, I had this privilege to have a photo with him (though I also saw his Inkterlace exhibit last 2015). This year, I am not part of the staff/committee for the exhibit but still I can see him from a distance (luckily) ‘coz I occasionally help my friends during the duration of it. I never imagined this moment would happen. I was too shy to ask for a photo-op last 2015, and I was also too shy to ask this year, but thanks to someone (my professor), she intentionally borrowed my phone and then dragged me a few meters to take this photo that I was able to have one snapped.

I felt kinda awkward because first of all he IS famous, second, I never got people (who’s not that close to me) this close to my being, and third, I’m usually clingy but he’s really very much much close (I’m not used to it because he’s so surreal). Lol I didn’t post this on my other SNS (Facebook, Instagram, twitter) because I don’t feel like sharing this or bragging about it. It’s too precious to me because this kinda remind me of my childhood days with my mom and dad (when he was still alive), so I just posted it here where only a few would see it.

When I got home, I called my mom on Skype and showed her the photo, she was smiling (LOL) and said, “Nakapa-picture najud kas imong idol tung bata pa ka.” (“You finally had the chance to have a photo with your idol when you were younger.) And I jokingly replied, “Lagi ma! Finally, natinuod ra jud tong akong ginayawyaw sauna.” (Yes ma. My dream back then finally came true.) And then we laughed, she also showed it to my aunts (she bragged about it more than I did. Haha)
