I don't see him very much but what I think happens when he comes round is that my parents give him two glasses of wine and see what happens just for fun.

Here is a list of things that have happened and have been said over the years:

Knocked someone’s champagne glass straight out of their hand while explaining how he teaches wine tasting to his physics undergrad students. He gets funds for entertainment and is only allowed to spend it on alcohol (he says).

Teaches his students wine tasting techniques and by the time all the students have drunk their glasses of wine, he says “A good physicist must never make a conclusion from only one experiment” and they go again

Talked about nano seconds and milliseconds in context of the Titanic imploding.

"Electrons go wiggle wiggle wiggle" (yes he is quoting the song)

Told me to go watch Star Trek Voyager specifically because of a hot woman in one episode (as he should)

He made 274747373 Star Trek references and was arguing with my dad about the physics in Star Trek

Used marbles to explain how the titanic sank to my mother

“At some point the sun runs out of squashiness”

Explained circle polarisation to me and knocked over his own champagne glass
