I think Arrow needs new writers. Ones that understand that characters and emotions drive more compelling stories than contrived plots and gratuitous action. Less comic fanboy and more original storytelling. Ones that don't try to pack a 42 minute show with 40 minutes of plot, but instead leave room for authentic dialogue delivered by these excellent actors.
I realize it's tough to write for a 23 episode season week in and week out, to write under pressure of deadlines and intrusion of studio politics, but I think they can do better.
I haven't watched arrow yet but dare I say that this current OTA vs NTA drama bullshit is bringing out the ugliest sides in yall like this storyline pisses me off so much bc it doesn't achieve what it apparently wants to achieve. so we have a bunch of people hating on NTA and it's so fucking transparent.
If I have to see another bitch talk shit about NTA and say shit like "hopefully Rene and the others die painfully", you're gonna catch these hands, yall are so transparent and unable to see other people's views. you just want olic*ty to rule and diggle to follow them (don't deny it hoes i know u) and fuck the rest amirite? it's not like this conflict has a purpose but yall are just here hating on the newbies hmm...

I have seen a lot of positive and negative stuff about the crossover, all of which make good points. So, I'm not trying to be negative and I sure don't want to get slammed for this, but one aspect that I am having difficulty resolving is not something I've seen discussed. (It may well have been but I've just not seen a post.) Remember how Earth-X Kara was spewing vile crap about how she (& Earth 1 Kara) were actually Better than everyone else? That the people on Earth-X should be happy to have died for her because she IS better than them? To her mind, as a product of a twisted meritocracy etc, she is more important? Earth-X's goal was to save Kara and keep the ruling order intact, regardless of how many suffered and died toward that end. Well...I am not seeing seeing a great deal of difference between the outcomes and practical application of Earth-X's priority & Earth 1's. Unless I'm missing something, Earth 1's heroes determined that their loved ones were the priority. They must be saved (and reunited.) They left Earth-X's entire population to suffer and presumably die under that regime, albeit with a new leader. Because killing a couple leaders when there were legions of devoted goose-stepping followers on that planet does not exactly guarantee progress. Are we supposed to think The Ray and the resistance there was enough for an overthrow now? I don't know. I just feel like the heroes I expected ours to be would have ensured the safety of the people on Earth-X or, at the very least, freed prisoners, etc.

it awkwardly looking like (even if it wasnāt the writersā intentions) they just wanted her out of the way so oliver & felicity donāt have to deal with something like ANOTHER WOMAN *gasp* permanently involved in oliverās life/making decisions that affect his family.
now oliver has a full time kid?? on an action show??? that never pans out well?
they should have just given her an injury with a long recovery time so they could get some mileage out of making oliver deal with primary custody, during which time he proves himself as a good father so she WANTS to share custody with him when sheās fully recovered
and then they could have explained episodes where oliver needs to primarily be doing mayor and/or arrow things asĀ āwilliamās with samantha this weekā

Saw what MG was saying yesterday (I think it was some kind of con? idk) about how they didnāt expect people to hate Susan so much & it just got me thinking about how the EPās are just so disconnected from their audience, itās actually a bit baffling
They didnāt expect so much backlash for killing Sara - then didnāt get why people were so angry about Laurel impersonating her & lying to Lance about it, they didnāt get why people hated Ray (and even put in a gross line in the Flash episode to be likeĀ āsee!! heās not a stalker!!!ā), I imagine they anticipated anger at killing Laurel but did it anyway & then because theyāve got no spine they brought her back as Black Siren.Ā
So now they created a pointless LI for Oliver, who manipulated Thea, has been actively investigating him & could have outed everybody, made Oliver side with her over his own sister & are surprised that people donāt like her??? Plus the obvious fact that they threw random LIās at Oliver & Felicity because thereās no other logical way to keep them apart, right? Once you create a ship like Olicity and write their relationship like you did in season 4, you canāt just then pretend it didnāt actually happen and give them both new LIās and expect people to care.
I imagine the EPās and writers literally like patting themselves on the back thinking theyāre really clever & everybodyās going to love what theyāre doing........ nope. And MG needs to shut the hell up - the low ratings & negative response to this season from fans isnāt because of the actors, and it isnāt becauseĀ āshippersā donāt understand the DNA of the show; itās because you suck at your job lmao
