âş FROM LATE NIGHT WANDERINGS
If there were any doubts as to the manâs intentions, the way his hands shot up in the air was a clear enough sign of surrender.
So, despite the fact his posture remained ramrod straight, the Mandalorian lowered his blaster.
Heâd seen this man before, he was sure of it-- heâd been hovering in the area when he and Cara Dune had first brought Moff Gideon to this Alliance base (and the Mandalorianâs skin hadnât yet stopped crawling being on this territory, but that was another matter entirely)-- but what he was doing in his presence was a question to him.
This wasnât the nice provision that the Alliance had offered him in exchange for the war criminal he delivered. This was the Mandalorian sat outside, the Imperial ship he and Cara had taken landed not too far away, and the light of the moon shining over the curve of his beskar helmet.
Blandly, he said, âThis is my camp.â
And the Mandalorian couldnât think of any reason for this stranger to be out here with him instead of with the rest of the Alliance where it was safer, but decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.
The blaster was slid back into his holster, and he leaned his head back, away from the light of the moon, to rest the back of his helm against the trunk of the tree he was sat under once more.
âCan I help you?â he asked, except he didnât sound nearly as enthusiastic enough for such a thing to sound truly sincere.
