It was a spur of the moment decision to go here, I thought the north slopes would be holding snow and the lake would make a nice destination. The only disappointment was that my intended picnic spot turned out to be rather more windy than I expected.
There seemed a reasonable number of people skiing onto Walighürli, some arriving by helicopter, but the only people we saw all day were some ice fisherman. The ice actually looked pretty precarious to us but I assume there’s some expertise in knowing what’s safe or not!
