tell me about lady sanna 👀
OMGGGG REALLY??? i’m gonna tell you alright, time for a Lady Sanna recap for all the new followers who missed her first drop :33 i’m just restate everything here without looking back on my first post because some stuff has changed since then!!! (yap time hope you’re fine with reading a long ass post)
story wise: Lady Sanna is the sometimes unforeseen main villain for my au prequel of Blood Meridian. where a group of explorers are stuck in the Arctic after their ship becomes stuck. Judge Holden accompanies them, and him and the rest of the group slowly start witnessing her at first from a distance, watching them. they mistake her for a local Inuit. but even they admit they have no idea of her origins, and they believe her to be the daughter spirit of Sedna, an Inuit goddess. whatever she is, it’s soon discovered she’s killing them off, one by one. paranoia sets in, and soon enough natural deaths from the cold and sickness bleed into her unnatural and oftentimes brutal murders. even when she’s not in their presence, her mere existence weighs heavy on them.
the group soon learns that Lady Sanna holds every human in existence to a set of unknown rules to decide how to kill them, specifically the rule of wether or not they respect her own balance of nature and how it should be, or if the cold can spare them. things happen, nearly all of the group dies save for Judge Holden and three others, where they escape and travel to North America to remain safe. they refuses to tell anyone what they saw, who they saw. her presence still weighs heavy on their minds.
later and more specifically during the time of Blood Meridian: Lady Sanna travels down to North America right during the 1840s through 1860s for seemingly ‘unknown’ reasons. and befriends a young orphan girl named Sarah Ruth in Tennessee. Lady Sanna teaches her how to survive in the wild, and protects her from most local dangers. Sarah Ruth learns most of her knowledge from her, and learns how to read and write from her too. adults dismiss Sarah Ruth’s claims about Lady Sanna and often day she’s just an imaginary friend. (magical tall lady that lives in the forest and controls the weather DOESNT sound real to be fair, and saying your best friends with mother nature herself is even harder) even she’s forced to ’forget’ Lady Sanna, Sarah Ruth, even behind closed doors and quietly, will always stand by her claims, and still talks to Lady Sanna alone whenever she needs her the most or whenever she wants it to storm. (and Lady Sanna listens to it all, she always does) even she’s forced to join the Civil War, Lady Sanna still protects her.
character wise?: Lady Sanna is cold and calculated. she holds her values close to her very soul, and absolutely refuses to ever bend her rules for anyone. even people she might love dearly herself. she’s one of the last remains of the ancient world, when humans were cowering in the dark and a campfire saved them from cold nights and inky blackness. she will never leave that behind, and holds everyone to the same standards as when we hunted with spears.
Lady Sanna never speaks, unless she’s absolutely needed to. she talks and tells around campfires if need be, but words rarely leave her even she’s directly confronted. she watches, silently, and takes in what she needs to. she walks where she needs to go and can seemingly travel for miles without getting tired, but is willing to ride in a horse and trains them herself, she’ll take stops and rest for the horse and only for the horse. Lady Sanna rarely trusts anyone, but is actually just bad at maintaining relationships, and to be blunt she’s extremely awkward and is scared of hurting anyone. she’s extremely violent and is merciless when killing, has a kill count in the possible thousands, and is obsessed with the creation of weapons. Lady Sanna takes great pride in human creation and that includes that of the discovery of fire. she’s extremely serious all the time, but is actually sarcastic and cracks jokes sometimes. she’s so deadpan about it, LITERALLY NOBODY besides Sarah Ruth picks up on it. (and maybe Toadvine 😛)
you can never find her yourself, she always find you. her arrival to those she wants to see or capture are as sure as a tornado touching down during May in the middle of the south, if she wants to see you, she will find you, sooner or later.
Lady Sanna can speak many languages, even forgotten ancient words. she carries on her an Aztec death whistle and has Viking runes tattooed on her lower back, and is aware of and can recall many different historical events outside of the Arctic and from around the world, calling into question her true origins and age. two things are possible, she’s truly a supernatural ancient force of nature, or an old woman too stubborn to let go. i’ll keep that mystery unsolved and up to, it’s more fun that way.
Lady Sanna and Toadvine: OKAY so i’m sure you’re wondering when i’ll address the elephant in the room, which is the beautiful bride Lady Sanna and the ugly ass groom Toadvine. BASICALLY, when i first made Lady Sanna the timeline of her story made it so she could meet Toadvine. and i thought they just looked really cute fighting and bickering with each other so i subconsciously started shipping them. i then REMEMBER i used to do this months ago and because one of my friends (shoutout to firework, the biggest tv and lady sanna supporter) encouraged it, i brought it back and now they’re officially forever together in my mind. 😛 it’s gotten to the point, i don’t even want them to be an AU anymore and i actually want them to be canon to the main story. in my head, Lady Sanna and him fight a lot at first, but eventually it starts becoming more flirty and sarcastic, and it eventually leads to Lady Sanna kissing him, and they start ‘sleeping’ together and talking more. Toadvine doesn’t fully believe that she nights be supernatural until he wakes up one day with her in the bed next to him, and the room is completely cold. probably about 20 degrees fahrenheit. and only THEN does he start actually believing it. they’re doomed of course, BUT IDCC i love the crackhead and the ancient force of nature kissing each other.
uhhh fuckkk i think that’s enough,, if i remember anything else i’ll just post about it :33
@fireworkss-exe tagging you because i know you love her and i want you to see it too ^^
