Finished AOT Season 1 on Saturday (I’ve been watching with my friends and it’s been a blast!), and now the brainrot is going strong!! Ugh i love this show sm already!! Especially ARMIN MY BELOVED! Figures I’d latch onto and relate way too hard to the character with my same personality type, huh 😅
This is a screenshot redraw of this scene (my personal fav scene so far too), where Armin realizes that his friends never thought of him as a burden like he feared and that they actually trust him with their lives. It’s also made for the InkTober/Community-Tober prompt of “skeleton”!
I thought the Titan ribcage snapping apart and crashing down in the background was a neat metaphor that connects to Armin’s self-perception too! The skeleton was generated by Eren to shield Armin and Mikasa from harm, and it crumbling down as Armin has his realization symbolizes how he suddenly no longer feels like he needs that shield anymore. He no longer has to feel like he’s a coward who always needs others to protect him - his friends’ confidence in him helps him recognize that he has the courage and strength to walk into the chaos and face it on his own. He may not have all of the same strengths that his friends do, but he has his own skills with intelligence and strategy that he can use to help everyone in his own way. Ugh I love him sm 😭❤️ I’m so scared of what development he’ll have in the next few seasons actually, but NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!! I’ve only just finished Season 1! 🙏🏻
