The Diamond Arm // Бриллиантовая рука is a 1969 Soviet comedy directed by Leonid Gaidai. The boss of a black market ring, who is only known as The Chief, wants to smuggle jewelry from a foreign state into the Soviet Union by hiding it in an orthopedic cast of one of his henchmen (played by Andrei Mironov and Anatoli Papanov). But in a case of mistaken identity, instead of Gennadiy Kozodoyev (Mironov) "breaking" his arm in front of the foreign criminals' store and using a Russian swear as a code, an "ordinary Soviet citizen" Semyon Semyonovich Gorbunkov (Yuri Nikulin) accidentally slips and swears. So the foreign criminals place a cast and the jewelry on Gorbunkov's arm. Gorbunkov, who comes in and out of a daze, notices what they are doing but says nothing until he reaches the Soviet police. What follows is a multitude of comedic and inept attempts by the Chief's henchmen to get the jewelry back. The plot was inspired by the real news item of Swiss smugglers who tried to transport diamonds in an orthopedic cast. The Diamond Arm is considered one of the finest Russian comedies and had more than 76,700,000 theatre admissions during the Soviet era. [watch with english subtitles]

I never even play the game itself ive only ever seen some game plays of convos/trials and the anime that took 3/5s of the original content out but i still like these two together... mostly bc of their conflicting personalities and roles in danfan ronpa lol
