#arloverse #this is a post no one will read so i can ramble in the tags about my d&d character #bc like. on one hand. they are lord edwin kettering's son. they forced themself into that role when the stole the sentinel blade.#charlotte became arlo & became her father's son by taking up this mantle that the eldest man of house kettering has carried for Generations #and then. many years later. they're captain crongor's son #and they're his son in the way that they would never be lord kettering's son #read: captain crongor acknowledges arlo as “my boy” read: his son #the whole crew is Found Family but arlo is specifically and explicitly crongor's son #despite all of that they're still very much A Woman in the eyes of society like.#they can bear children and if they'd never left umberland they would've had 2+ kids by now #hence why lord kettering would never acknowledge charlotte as anything but his daughter (read: a pawn to wed off)#but captain crongor knows that's His Boy #and then he's killed and then arlo passionately and loudly takes up his mantle and his name and the cause he fought for #arlo finishes things captain crongor started (read: freeing his brother from imprisonment)#because they are their father's son #but. i personally love myself for making my dnd character's last name their dead wife*'s first name so that when im thinking about their ship name it'd just be my character's name i <3 u arlo and i <3 u jade and i <3 u arlojade
