I mean, okay, a) I am a library assistant and not a librarian so I can mostly only talk about circ stuff and b) I work in a public library, so things are going to be different.  But here are some things that I have learned while working at a library for...over a decade, holy gods.

1) Probably, you are reasonably good with computers.  A large number of your patrons are probably not going to be.  You will need to learn to translate from “I can use a computer” to “I can’t” in such a way that is helpful to the patron and doesn’t seem contemptuous or impatient.  It’s hard.

2) It’s easy to get into a mindset where you want to punish people who have overdue items or damaged books.  But you really do want them to come back to the library, so try to be understanding and make it easier for them to pay and use materials again.  The library police don’t really do good things for anyone.

3) Patrons are going to assume that you know all kinds of weirdass shit off the top of your head just because you work in a library.  They are also going to assume that your answers are honest.  This is a heady power that you must use wisely.  Try not to lie to the impressionable.

4) If you shelve a lot, it’s good to have a rich inner life, because shelving does not require a lot of mental energy and you can make up some badass stories that way.  A good 2/3 of the conlang I’m working on happened while shelving.

5) People are going to say to you, “Gosh, I wish I could work in a library and spend all my time reading!”  It will be infuriating every time.

6) 99% of people do not read signs.  No matter how many or what kind of signs you put up in your library, they will not read them.  This is just a fact that you have to accept about humanity.

7) At some point in your time working at the library, you will have to check in a book in which someone has used a food item as a bookmark.  Mine was a week-old piece of cheese.  Bacon is evidently popular.  You will also have to check in books that are covered in unidentifiable-but-sticky substances.  Be prepared to wash your hands a lot.

8) It’s not going to feel like it every day, but you get to work in a pretty awesome place that helps people and educates them and fiercely defends their intellectual freedom and provides them a safe place to meet and communicate and grow.  Libraries are one of the things humanity got right.  They’re pretty great.

Also I've been delving into some other cinemas recently, let you know if I find anything good (I mean, there are some that I've already seen but I want to know more about Afghan Cinema, Iranian Cinema, Hong Kong Cinema, others before I start throwing recommendations at people)Hey! Thanks so much for these recommendations, I don’t think I’ve ever actually watched any Indian Cinema so I’ll definitely look into these :) I do watch some foreign films, but I tend to limit it to either European cinema or J-horror and K-horror, so I’m always looking for recommendations to branch out. 

I’ve never seen any Afghan or Hong Kong cinema, but as to the latter I’ve been meaning to watch In the Mood for Love for a ridiculously long time now. I’ve not explored much Iranian cinema either, but I can definitely recommend Under the Shadow and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. For sure let me know if you see anything else you think I should look into!

Yus I am such a fan of those two. Deo is just a classy independent woman, and Waka is just… Waka.

Ah yes, and that’s why i also ship Eruri… Also Eremika… those are like the only two ships i ship were someone isn’t dead (also yumikuri, but just like you i haven’t read the manga for the last 20 or so chapters so idk how that’s going).
