Film, no. Series though? Arguably Speed Racer.

oh that’s a point. i’ve seen some of the race sequences in that and they were really striking and cool. kinda reminded me of Redline back over in animation land. I’ve not seen the original Speed Racer though.

I’ve not either, but it’s plausible...

I guess the thing is that you can’t just try to tell the same story but now with live action. You have to do something new, that plays to the strengths of the new medium.

Taako’s wandering the edges of the picnic when a hand tugs at his robe. Lup’s hiding behind a tree, and she’s got that look on her face.

“‘Sup, manita?”

In reply, she hefts a giant bucket filled with water balloons. Her grin becomes wider.

“Gotcha.” He whispers an incantation over the balloons, and they turn into birds, flying towards the rest of the picnickers.

Lup peers around the tree, watching the birds hover above everybody’s heads. “Now!”

yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they changed it recently but in such a way that it only errors out when you try to update an old theme. they could definitely handle this better instead of just giving you an opaque error you don’t know how to fix

fortunately (?) the changes i was attempting to make were just updates to my links to function with the new url

so when i go back to that i’ll be fine, until i decide to switch to a new functional theme

I don't know much about tumblr's architecture, but: tumblr is loaded over https. if a web page loads images/css/javascript/etc over http (insecure) from an otherwise secure https page, that's insecure because an attacker could intercept the requests for those resources and deliver some sort of malicious payload instead. browsers explicitly check for that and issue warnings about it. so I assume tumblr disallows http urls to prevent browser warnings.

this mostly makes perfect sense to me

the confuse thing for me is that i was editing my existing theme, which clearly was good enough at some point? and relatively minor edits at that.

so this is a new change on tumblrs part.

Oh jeez, yeah, I briefly tried E injections but it turns out “okay with needles” is not at all the same as “okay with using needles on yourself” so I went back to daily meds. (also I couldn’t handle the mood swings.)
