Nick frowned. He wasn’t used to getting such a reaction, but then again, he’d been through a lot. Maybe people didn’t always know who he was. He’d been just an average man, once upon a time. “The name is Nick,” he said, even if he was still wary of the other, hand almost itching for a weapon to be in it. Whether that would have done any good or not, Nick couldn’t tell. “I could ask the same thing, you know. Who are you?” 

Lucifer enjoyed places like this; they reminded him of Earth’s beauty in the beginning, before humanity started to ruin Father’s creation. Before pollution and destruction left so much horror and trash in mankind’s wake, making what had once been so pure and lovely, wondrous, turn into an eyesore in so many ways. No, it was places like this, with almost no touches or influences of humanity, that Lucifer could see reminders of his Father’s initial creation. 

The response from the other angel had Lucifer sighing, shaking his head, as he gazed ahead and stared outward, at the way the earth stretched for miles, the sky reaching to meet it in the distance. Ariuk wasn’t one Lucifer had spoken with often before, but maybe fresh perspectives were needed at times. 

“Why? Isn’t it obvious, Ariuk? She betrayed me. Michael... Though I loved her, though I thought there was no way she’d ever turn away from me, she-- I might have rebelled, Ariuk, but she betrayed me.” She sent me to Hell, she locked me away, she betrayed me.
