So we had our disability benefits assessment yesterday
And a singlet(?) friend of mine came along for moral support
This friend was in a relationship with a DID system for years and had a v bad experience, but was sort of plural at the time (or at least median?) and now claims not to be although some of the stuff he says makes me wonder, anyway
He asked why I hadn’t mentioned my plurality during the assess. Setting aside that we don’t have (or want) a DID/OSDD diagnosis I said I didn’t consider it a disability and so it would feel deceptive to claim it as one
He seemed p suspect of that, like he wasn’t able to conceive of the idea of plurality not being disabling. It was odd and uncomfortable

which brings me to why i remembered this blog exists
i’m really curious to see how our system membership will change now that we’re not connected to our exes
we’ve already got pings from 2 different people but nothing certain yet - but if they did show up, that’s the first time in a while without any matchy matchy business or newbie development being tied to anyone else’s expectations. people developing how they like, and seeing how they turn out
not that matching fictives between systems are bad per se (it would be pretty rich of us to claim that and even disregarding that, we still wouldn’t think it’s bad), but we never operated that way until we met our recent exes, so it’s kind of nice to see what might happen now, a return to old ways or just a return to a sort of subconscious flexibility

I don't share a canon with her... But after seeing the films with her in, I'd be interested in talking to Diana Prince- she seems like a great person to get to know!
And I guess we could connect over both being from 'superhero universes'? Heh.
