Hmmm. There’s a bunch I find interesting and would love to write. I went into why I like each in a previous ask, so I’m going to skip that part of this ask and instead talk about any I have solid fic ideas I may write someday (if you’re interested I also have a Jon rare pair rec list here).

Jon of Dorne

The first is my Jon of Dorne AU where it’s pretty much what it says on the tin and Jon is raised in the Water Gardens instead of Winterfell. While that story will have Jonsa in it (Jon whisks Sansa away to Dorne to protect her from the fallout of Joffrey’s murder), it also has a lot of Jon/Arianne in it. Both because that’s one of my favorite pairings, but also because it fits really organically.

I’ve posted a couple snippets of it before (here’s the first, and here’s one where he first meets Arianne). Here’s a snippet of him and Arianne once they’re both a little older:

“My father doesn’t like you,” Arianne tells Jon in her careless way one day when they are both thirteen and lying on their backs, soaking in the sun on the pink marble edge of one of the pools, feet moving lazily through the cool water. Sylva and Drey and the rest of the court of children Arianne keeps splash a few pools away. “He still says you’re of the north.”

“I’m not.” Jon scowls. He blinks and sits up, the orange warmth of the sun suddenly fled. “I’m Dornish.”

“I know.” Arianne shrugs, the bare curve of her shoulder sliding against the warm marble. She purses her lips, eyes still closed against the sun. “I told him you’re Dornish as I or Garin or Tyene and that he worries over nothing.”

“He’ll never trust me.” Jon draws a leg to his chest, perches his chin on his knee and scowls out at the lap of the waves against the pools. “My father was a Stark, and for it he’ll never love me.”

“I do.” Arianne opens her eyes, large and dark, and for a moment Jon’s heart leaps into his throat. “I trust you.”

Jeyne Westerling

I have another fic idea I hope to write on day where Jon goes south with Robb and marries Jeyne Westerling. To quote from my outline for a minute: 

AU In which Jon Snow marries Jeyne Westerling during Robb’s western campaign. It saves Jeyne her honor and Robb his war, but that does not make it easy: not for Jeyne, not for Robb, and not for Jon. 

Jeyne still looks at Robb with longing, and Jon knows that she wishes he were her lord husband. It hurts him, it does, but it is nothing new for a bastard used to scraps from the main table. He understands better Robb’s pain at least, but it hurts all the same. He hears the mutters and whispers of the other men that Robb cuckolds him, that he married Jeyne off to his bastard brother so he could still visit her each night without losing his Frey alliance.

It is unfair, Jon thinks sometimes with a suddenness that takes his breath away. All his life he’s hated himself for wanting Winterfell, wanting what was Robb’s, and now this one thing that should be his isn’t: his wife doesn’t think she’s his, the bannermen don’t, and Robb still sighs when he sees her. Don’t you have enough, he feels like snarling at Robb. Can’t I have this one thing for my own?

Greensight Jon

If she succeeds, there’s a signed pardon inside Jon’s desk drawer to spare her from punishment. But if she fails—every time thus far—he spanks her over his knee like a naughty child.
