Arebyte Residency Session 2 thoughts
The main come away from this session, which was less vague than session one (nice), was that as a big group we were interested in forming alternate ways of communication, when forming a system to be analytical of our own methods of communicating and approaching this formation.
What I’m contemplating and would like to sketch ideas / visualise what alternate communication patterns are - for example chain mail communication that is accumulative, or random coming together of groups to then feed back to the source, or a full circle of free speech spurred by each input, or closing your eyes / anonymous talking where the author is hidden so you have lack of context to the voice and simply only the content of the dialogue, or going round and forcing someone to input to alleviate the pressures of speaking out in front of a big group. the visualising of these connections would be interesting.
In a recent masters pop up show there was a piece that rethought / reframed what a clock would look like if it were just made up of frequencies - we would be able to train ourselves to decipher certain troughs or incremented squiggles to know what time of day we were in - can we do the same for communication or is it too ingrained in us for it to happen easily? How would one approach that?
