a friend of mine, the artist for the supernatural mystery comic Redux, drew blue and nastasia for my birthday a little while back.
redux is a comic that i highly enjoy, if you’re looking for more character-focused reading material. we share a lot of similar influences in our art and storytelling styles. ardwick’s work can also be found here on his twitter.

The Ardwick Empire (later renamed the Manchester Hippodrome) sat on the corner of Higher Ardwick and Hyde Road at Ardwick Green. The theatre was built in 1904 by renowned Theatre Architect Frank Matcham, who was responsible for a large number of theatres that are still operating, including The Buxton Opera House and the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham. The black and white photograph above shows the building in 1958. It was demolished in 1964.
T-Rex
"My business is about moving goods around the world. My particular specialisation is dangerous goods. But along the way I have been asked to move all sorts of commodities around the globe, whole symphony orchestras, exotic supercars, an even Moomins. But the most extraordinary request was from a world famous dinosaurusologist who asked me to deliver his giant fossilised dinosaurs from display to display. In the end it wasn't this one (which was discovered in the USA and flown over to Manchester airport), but it was a gorgosaurus which is the T-Rex's great grand-daddy. As a grand-daddy myself I took my son and my grand-daughter to the Manchester Museum this morning. It really is a fabulous museum with a huge range or artefacts, without being too big. "
