Portal first!” The Demonic beast was still dissolving beneath Mephiston as already the Trifarian Elite resumed its unstoppable march and slaughter. Meria blasted her jets again to get back to the front, and still in the air, her hand pushed with a grunt, sending a mass of heretics to the blood-drenched stone floor, where they met their end by Adron’s holy flames. She descended upon a traitor, blade clean through its head, then, Emperor knows how, a traitor guardsman in full Noxraan power armor charged her. With a shield, she parried the man’s blow, and instead of slashing back for no damage, she simply punched him, sending a psychic force past his armor to obliterate his organs. The man staggered back as air escaped him with a grotesquely silent sound, then fell, well after Meria changed targets. She knew she already eliminated him, there was no point in waiting to make sure.
A few moments passed, and the small hell gate the psyker twisted into was closed by holy fire, and the Elite marched on, eager to find the next greatest threat to eliminate. Meria got Lieutenant Merdo’s brief message that even on the other side of the battle the tide was turning in their favor as the enemy’s morale broke, and she turned on her amplifier again to boost the efforts further with some friendly competition. “Merdo’s winning, let’s beat the east line, shall we? Free shit if we wipe them faster!” And to that, her squad roared as one, and pushed even deeper. A massive shell then crushed into the masses just a hundred meters from them, exploding with napalm-like flames. Another message followed: “Demon caller circle located and terminated. Astartes leader located, approaching you from the left.” Meria would have warned her squad, but by then it was too late. The blue-armored giant closed the distance with impossible speed, and slashed with a burning black mace. Barely in time, but Meria raised her power shield, and was sent flying into a wall. Her squad attempted a coordinated takedown, but the traitor’s armor was ancient and tainted, and resisted all their weapons. Dazed, Meria tried to stumble back up.
