It was -13F this morning (I live in Michigan) and the district is supposed to cancel school if the temperature is below -8, but Freshman had to bubble in the WorkKeys test and Juniors had to get something ready for the ACT. Frostbite on exposed skin after 30 minutes or less!
Right now it’s 5°F but feels like -9°F.
School was cancelled here, too. All tutoring had been cancelled last night, but then I got a call from my boss asking if I’d be willing to come in for students who wanted to continue tutoring (basically he didn’t want to have to reschedule them later) I said sure, if it was a sure thing and they wouldn’t cancel on me… so here I am.
In the morning, I also accompanied sarai92 to the Old Town School of Folk Music to ask about ballet class registration for her daughter. My coat’s hood became stiff on contact with the cold air.
The North Wind is the wind of death; but not necessarily physical death. This is the realm of the one eternal universal law - change. The North Wind is cold (magically speaking), blowing from the direction of winter and of snow lying deep across the lands. It is "dry," paving the way for spells of destruction. How to use it? If you wish to break a bad habit, perform any spell of this nature while the North Wind is blowing for added power. The North wind, while chilly with night and death and deep snows, is also the wind of the element Earth, and thus shares in some of its qualities. But the wind is not favored for fertility and prosperity magic, although that involving healing can be greatly aided by the North Wind.
