#ArchitectureandContext: The epical moment of the Japanese cherry blossoms take the dreamy and fairy-tale like tree house by Terunobu Fujimori to another level altogether. It is impressive to see how the temporality of nature is the single most defining element here, overpowering the experience of architecture, despite the architecture being so outspoken. Sitting within the Kiyoharu Art Village, this teahouse was designed to relax and enjoy views of the blossoms from within. The simple and modern interiors juxtapose the surreal and artful exteriors. Made of Earth, wood and stone, it is supported on a single 80 year old cypress trunk, capable of withstanding extreme weathers. It elevates the structure by 4 metres, allowing seclusion and expansive views of the surrounding trees.
