Hello,
A few boring words of introduction would be necessary at the start of this great journey. My name is Maciek and I am a student of architecture in Wrocław, Poland. For now, I really like it and kinda enjoy making models and talking about idealistic stuff. However, in my spare time, I sink in the world of video games saving planets, building cities from scratch and so on so on.
And then, One day I had this idea about connecting this two things. There is some very good architecture in video games but they do not get the well-deserved recognition as some of Zaha Hadid’s over-the-top projects. They do not appear on any of architectural sites like archdaily.com. They are just a background to all of this shooting and fighting and every other nasty stuff you could think of. Why is that so? Because they are not actual buildings, because they are only in a game? So we should just ignore them?
In some games even ceilings have more ideology behind them then most builings. For me, that is a reason enough to talk about. And, of course, I shall do so. Ladies and gentleman, let’s play some architecture!
