Parisa had been following the dwarf for a while because it was always interesting when a dwarrow entered the forest. Her intention had just been to study him, maybe pick up more language if he decided to speak to himself, but she’d revealed herself when she sensed it. 

He was coming close to another faerie’s territory. A very dangerous faerie if her senses were correct. Parisa, as much as she hated weapons, had revealed herself to try and protect him. The dwarf didn’t seem that grateful though.

With great care does       Dis weave her son’s hair.

        Braids worn by kings, now sported by her youngest son.         With pride comes sorrow, for Kili was not born to rule,         nor had he been groomed for such responsibility. But         Thorin is mad, yet coherent enough to know of his own         turmoil, and had passed the throne down onto his last         remaining heir. Dis’ firstborn should be the one having         his hair so intricately decorated, being fitted for         extravagant ceremonial garbs. The golden haired Durin         had the heart of a ruler, brave and loyal and true, with         a selflessness that had never before graced their line.         He was simply born to be king. But it was not to be. 

       “There,” Dis says, securing a sinuous web of hair with a         jewelled bead, before settling her hands on Kili’s shoulders,         smoothing over the fine fabric draped across the         brunette’s frame. “Very noble indeed. Though, you shall         have to stand a little straighter, kings do not slouch, child.”         Then Dis gives a soft sigh, a hand raising to her son’s         cheek, the touch fuelled by affection.

“Just where have you been??”

        Kili had clearly intended on sneaking in unnoticed. But his late         night -- escapades were growing more and more frequent.         If the young prince thinks Thorin has not caught glimpses of         him stumbling home, sometimes reeking of the hunt, other         times reeking of ale. No matter what he was getting up to,         he was returning at the most unholy of hours, sleeping through         meetings, and neglecting his duties.
