Sketch Problem “Quotation” (part5)

       One of the serious deals in architecture is making quotations from other architects’ work. Now we are suppose to make a quotation from a house that has been assigned to us in the very beginning of the assignment. From the list that I picked I choose the Brick House by Caruso St John. I try to quota the openings he used in the design of house. I choose this having openings in different properties to show that by the small scaled opening inner space obtain more dense relations to the outer space I also studied this property previously in my case study.

3D Collage

          New assignment, same way the start. Now we are going to produce a digital collage with the materials we are going to obtain by the help of the papers we picked. This time we picked three papers one that gives us a group of nine houses and the other two are the themes that in my opinion may both lead to an answer or help to think out of the box. I picked the group of houses which are: Walter Gropius, Gropius House -Louis Kahn, Esherick House -Kazuyo Sejima, Ryue Nishizawa & Associates / SANAA, M House -UN Studio / Van Berkel & Bos, Möbius House-Can Çinici, Microloft II Bulut-Peter Eisenman, House X -Monolab, Body House / Caruso St John, Brick House -Smiljan Radic, Chilean House. And the themes are: Crammed all over – Leaking from edges. After a search for these houses I try to find the matching qualities with the themes I picked. For a very general thinking I said that all of these houses were crammed by the environment they are located. They are crammed by the land, surrounding buildings, nature... So this lead me into thinking that even all are crammed they are in a different level of that thing. So as an affect of crammed all over they all leak from edges with different levels too. For my thoughts what leaks are the spaces house both contains and have relation. Generally both inside and outside spaces house have relation with. In all these manner I used the drawing off houses to show their common property that they are all crammed by something and the pictures of houses are divided in groups that shows different levels of leaking started  from the ones that can`t leak to the ones that high amount of leaking. I took the leaking from edges theme in a way that there are connections but there is always something that divides the two sides from each other in a way.
