Audiosurf 2
So as a big fan of the first Audiosurf game i finally pick up the early access version of Audiosurf 2. It plays very similar to the first game but with much improvement to the course.
For all of you who have not played the first, you take a song off you computer and it will turn it into a course for you to play. You fly your spaceship/ wake boarder/ whatever they come out with next, down a course hitting the correct colours. When you do this you bank them for combos. There are slight differences to this depending on the game mode.
I enjoy playing "mono" which is a game mode where there are 2 colours. The changing colours you hit and the gray you do not. There are a lot more bumps on the track and a lot more colour blocks to hit and dodge. This makes it a lot more exciting and difficult to play. Do not worry about this though as there are many levels of difficulty.
The next game mode i tired was "Wakeboard." Unlike "Mono," you don't just collect the blocks and bank them. When you do collect them they increase you score. The major difference if how you ride. In this mode you are pulled along by to boats either side of the course with a person on a wake board. You can jump large distances in the air (like in ssx), by using the drops in the course and the wake of the boat. By the using you mouse, keyboard or both you pull of tricks. I found with some quite and calm songs this mode is harder to play.
I am very pleased where the game stands now and am excited for its future. As more is put into the game i will republish and update this review.
