âAre you done yet?â
Under normal circumstances this question â the fourth of it's kind â would have annoyed him but today it made a smile flicker over his face like the fading light of a candle. Arcadios could practically feel princess Hisui's gaze piercing the back of his head, but he didn't stop in the tracks of his writing.
It was the usual situation; noon had long passed and the sun peaked lazily through the windows coloring his bookshelves a flaming red and like so often at this time of the day the princess had visited him in his chambers, to chat or to simply enjoy each other's presence â although for today it had mostly amounted to the latter, for his work kept him awfully busy lately.
And under normal circumstances this wouldn't have bothered him in the slightest; now it made his brows furrow in annoyance, however, for every minute spent with it was one minute less spent with her highness. Â He suddenly realized that he had not yet answered and did so now, although probably more than ten seconds too late: âAlmost.â
The little sigh came immediately, as if she had anticipated such an answer. Arcadios heard the rustle of clothing behind him, accompanied by the faint sound of a book being placed on his table, but it wasn't enough to tear his gaze away from the sheet of paper he just filled with words. The light touch on his wrist, however, managed; the knight looked up to meet a pair of deep green eyes with such a severity that his movements came to a halt immediately.
âStop this. Now.â
The smile that played around Hisui's lips was gentle, amused almost, and took the sternness from her eyes but her fingers remained on his wrist. He had already opened his mouth to protest, but she silenced him with a mere gaze and rose to speak instead.
âYou have been working on this for four hours now, Arcadiosâ, she said and he could see the incredulity on her face â a hint of it only, however, she knew how determined he was to finish an assignment once he started it, after all. Hearing her words startled him, however and his gaze fell upon the clock on his desk and quickly calculated the time that had passed since she had arrived in his quarters.
âActually it's only been three and a half...â, he started but let the sentence trail off when he saw her face that now showed an expression that seemed to say âYou're honestly arguing about this?â.
A chuckle slipped through his lips.
âYou are aware that General Raskhar will give me hell if he doesn't get this report by tomorrow.âArcadios stated the words as a fact; of course she knew, she hardly ever missed one of the strategic meetings held by military command and was thus better informed about it's machinations than many others.
âI am awareâ, she responded, but nonetheless drew the pen out of his hand and placed it onto the desk just out of his reach, gently shoved his hand from the desk and used the opportunity to sit down on his lap, âBut the General will have to wait for just a few more hours.â
A little laugh slipped through her lips. Arcadios found himself staring up at her as thoughts consumed him once again; he often wondered how she managed it, this tightrope-walk between the dovelike young woman beloved by both the citizens and the palace's servants and the brisk queen-to-be that each and every soldier would follow into hell itself without a question â he himself was no exception, on the contrary. If it came to going to hell for her and this kingdom he would be the one leading the masses.
But even now, after she had so brazenly made him stop â and he often prided himself with the fact that he wouldn't let anything get between him and his work â the princess sat on his lap, a light flush tinging her cheeks, wearing a smile that seemed somewhat shy...maybe with a trace of embarrassment but without even the slightest note of regret. Â Â
The knight felt his lips curl into a smile â the one he so often wore but with a little more honesty behind it and without the need to hide his thoughts; he didn't need to, here. He never did. Not with her. They both played with open cards when they were together like this, forgetting the facades the courtly life often forced upon them.
âWould that not be improper?â, he inquired, straightening on his chair as much as possible with a princess on his lap and let his fingers faintly brush the pale skin of her upper arm as he put his hand on the desk again, effectively trapping her on his lap; it was a habit he still could not shake off, that lingering hesitation to touch her.
A foolish habit he was fully aware, after all she had given him permission more than once already â but some traits were just hard to erase, it seemed; and if Arcadios was entirely honest with himself, he was still attached to the strict set of rules and regulations he had spent most of his life learning and living...and yet it took only a few glimpses, some light touches and the lingering feeling of a kiss on his lips to sweep them all away in face of the desire to just break every single one of them, if it were just with her by his side. A melodic laugh drew his attention back to the present.
âPerhaps?â, she mused with a smile so innocent it made him laugh quietly. Leaning towards her he wrapped his arms around her waist and meekly pulled her closer; she followed the movement until  her shoulder leaned against his chest â it was subtle gestures like these that always reminded him of just how good she felt against his skin...and how thankful he was that he was permitted to feel it. His hands now rested in the crook of her waist right beneath her elbow â his fingers slightly grazed it with a touch light as a feather but remained still otherwise.One of her hands snaked up to his cheek and turned him to face her, tips of her fingers playing with his beard; another thing he would seldom let pass under normal circumstances, but now it only made him smile thinly as he felt the light tug on his chin.
âMust you always be the one to remind us of the rules?â, Hisui said, her tone playfully scolding as she tapped on his jade necklace once before affectionately running her fingers through his beard again. Before she could draw her hand back to her body however his hand shot up and caught hers in midair, startling them both.For a split second his heartbeat seemed to stop; his body had reacted by himself and inwardly the knight scolded himself.
He knew that she wouldn't protest â and she did not â but the hesitation he so often felt when touching her had returned with all might now...and despite it Arcadios hesitated to let her hand go. Her skin felt cold against his', as he brushed his thumb over her delicate fingers, pensive gaze following his own movements. Â
âOne of us has toâ, he finally whispered, belying these very same words as he brought her hand to his lips.The kiss lasted long, a small eternity in which neither of them dared to move a muscle with only their breathing and their heartbeats being proof to the passing of time.
When he finally let go it was with a rueful smile, for an instant he felt a sting of guilt for startling her and having touched her for longer than it was appropriate â he scolded himself for that thought as well, did she not sit on his very lap?!
Hisui, however, didn't draw her hand away. Instead she intertwined her fingers with his' and leaned in until their foreheads nearly touched, her smile sweeping away any apology that may have formed on his lips and before he knew it he had spoken nonetheless:
âBut for now...â, he said, voice lowered to an affectionate whisper, pulling her even closer, pushing the scolding thoughts deep inside a dark corner of his head,âTo hell with the rules?â
The knight gave her a smile that was tender and mischievous in equal shares and she giggled; she knew of this little conflict he still held onto like a fool but didn't comment on it.Instead the princess brushed his cheek with her free hand, the blush on her very own deepening into the same flaming red that painted his bookshelves behind them, but with a laugh all too visible on her features.
âTo hell with the rulesâ, she agreed â like the first time they had met like this. And like the first time his heart seemed to explode in his chest when their lips met. Â Â

1. Talk about the first ship you ever had.I think the first ship I ever had was an OC of mine with Cyrus from PokĂŠmon. Iâm not sure whether I had one beforeâŚbut if I did then I guess I didnât really know the words for it xD
2. Talk about three of the most important ships throughout your life.Whew. I think Roy x Riza was one, because it (among other factors) ultimately got me to start uploading fanfiction. The second one is, in a way, Megatron x Starscream because it got me to read Transformers fanfiction and thus dragged me into the fandom xDAnd the last one is, of course, Arcadios x Hisui from Fairy Tail. I really donât know what I would do without my two precious dorks~ <3And through every single one of these ships/fandoms I got to know a lot of wonderful people <3
3. Whatâs your current OTP?Arcadios x Hisui from Fairy Tail!
4. Whatâs your current NOTP?Anything including Hisui that doesnât involve Arcadios, tbhâŚmeaning things like Hisui x Natsu, Hisui x Rogue/F!Rogue or Hisui x StingâŚnot really my thing. Arcadios pretty much is the only character she interacted with and they obviously know each other a long time already and I need to characters to interact in order to ship them. And, well, she doesnât really have interactions with all the boys I mentioned prior (except for Dio) â the only exception would be F!Rogue but pairing her with the guy that nearly made her destroy her own country would be mental torture for her, so thatâs a big no from me.
5. Do you have any poly ships?Nope!
6. How do you feel about love triangles?Tbh everytime I saw something like this being portrayed in media I didnât really like it because it mostly ended in arguments and tears or was simply ridiculous soâŚnah. Not really my cup oâ tea. (Lookinâ at you there Legend of Korra.)
7. How do you feel about RPF?Not really my cup of tea either :âD The only exception for me would be writing about people from ancient history and Iâve also done that already (he~llo Cardinal Richelieu) but fics about actors or youtubersâŚnah. I donât know it just really doesnât interest me?
8. Have you ever shipped yourself with a character?Yes, who hasnât? XDMy second fanfiction was basically OC (kinda me) x Cyrus from PokĂŠmon, soâŚyeah xD Oh dear, all of these sins that were committed when I was young~
9. Do you have many ships that never got together at all?Well, since I usually tend to have a ship involving my favorite character(s) and my favorite character(s) tend to be eithera) total sidecharacters that basically no one but me is interested in orb) dead at the end of the series. So the possibility of my ships not working out is usually pretty high, Iâm afraid.
And some of the ships I shipped (and if Iâm fully honest that really werenât that manyâŚgood grief) were âonlyâ implied and never got explicitly together, like e.g. RoyAi from FMA. And, well, right now I mostly ship characters from series that are still running, so I canât really make a statement regarding those :âD
10. Do you ship any characters that have never met?No. I see ships like these more than often here on tumblr and imo mostly the reasons for those ships are âThey look good togetherâ andâŚI guess Iâm oldfashioned when it comes to that and think that people actually need to have canon-interactions to be shippable. And if they have never met they literally canât have interactions, soâŚno. Itâs not really my cup of tea. (And I tend to complain a lot about those ships so it would be pretty doublefaced to ship something like this myself)
11. Talk about your favorite first kiss.My favorite is actually the only one I can remember right now â and that would be the one Laura Roslin and Bill Adama from Battlestar Galactica shared. Gods that little kiss he gave her when she promoted him to the rank of Admiral⌠3
12. Have you ever been disappointed when your ship finally got together?Yes. RumBelle from OUAT, because the writers pretty much screwed them up, especially Belle, if you ask me. And it seemed like they had a constant need to further punch Rumple in the face just to make it worse for everyone and before I dropped the series they were basically always fighting andâŚthanks, but no thanks.
13. Has a ship ever broken your heart?Laura Roslin and Bill Adama have, GOD THEY HAVE BROKEN ME BEYOND REPAIR those two were just way too much ;^;Oh and ArcaSui of course. Yes, they break my heart practically once a month xD
14. How do you feel about will they/wonât they?I think it can be pretty funny to watch but definitely will get annoying at some point when the characters are just unable to tell each other after 4839070 Seasons of CLEARLY having feelings for each other.
15. Have you ever âshipped at first sightâ?Nope, I need to see the characters interact for that, shipping normally takes a while with me. There are exceptions of course, but I was never in a situation where I looked at two characters for the very first time and said âI ship youâ.
16. Talk about a ship you initially disliked.HmâŚI canât think of one. When I donât like something/someone (can be a ship or a character or an entire group of characters, something like that) itâs usually really hard for me to start liking it, so⌠:âD
17. Talk about a pairing youâve stopped shipping romantically.I guess you could count RumBelle, which mainly happened because I dropped OUAT entirely. And also kind of HenDrey from Nanatsu no Taizai, because I think I like them better as bros and they are pretty close regardless (I still kinda ship them romantically tho but the brotp is stronger at the moment xD)âŚand also kind of Megatron x Starscream from Transformers, because I believe that a romantic relationship between the two of them wouldnât work after everything theyâve done to each other not to mention that a romantic relationship between the two would involve pretty toxic elements if they revert to their old patterns. It would be completely different, however, if theyâd finally manage to talk it over (Lookinâ at you here IDW.) But I definitely support them as bros with all my heart! (and SINCERELY hope that they will finally talk about this issue in the comics because come on you canât avoid that topic forever, IDW. Not to mention that itâs an incredibly huge part of both Megatronâs and Starscreamâs lives so it needs to be talked about if either of them wish to move on or change and Megs clearly does at least the latter.)
18. Talk about a moment which made you question an entire ship.RumBelle againâŚI believe it was Season 5âŚ? where Rumpleâs heart was forcibly emptied of darkness and he became a hero ( = everything Belle wanted) and asked her whether she wanted to start again and she just blatantly refused. Y'knowâŚafter constantly pressuring him into becoming a better man she just turns her back on him once heâs actually done it. After the first half of season 5 I was pretty salty about the ship anyway but that really had me yelling at the screen in anger.
19. Have you ever shipped something despite yourself?Not that I know :oI guess one exception would be NaLu, but only with my dear friend @the-inu because I really, really donât like the canon portrayalâŚwhich may have something to do with the fact that I donât like Natsu and canât stand that he constantly gropes Lucy or invades her personal space or messes with her with her clearly not being comfortable with that. But the way Inu writes them theyâre totally cool >3<
20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.WellâŚusually Iâd say ArcaSui now, but Iâve found some people who also ship it, soâŚI guess right now I donât have a ship I feel alone in shipping! Except maybe Hendrickson x Dreyfus from Nanatsu no Taizai, but tbh right now Iâm more into shipping them as a BroTP and that however is well-liked, as far as I know x3
21. Is there a ship you just donât get, but have nothing against?Ha, numerous ones! Usually I have one single ship in a series and the rest (with a few exceptions) justâŚwell, exist.  The Fairy Tail fandom provides a number of examples for this: one of them being BixlowxLisanna. Imo itâs just a case of âOh we ship Elfman with Evergreen and Mirajane with Laxus, so Lisanna needs to be shipped with one of the Raijinshu, too!â âŚyeah, but thatâs just my opinion. Itâs not really something Iâd ship, but if people are happy with this ship then Iâm happy that they have fun. ^^
22. Which of your ships have the best chemistry?Hm, I guess Roslin and Adama from Battlestar Galactica! God, I loved them (AND THEY BROKE MY HEART AAAAAAAAAAAARGH) And Kanan and Hera from Star Wars Rebels! I just love those two, because one is clearly able to see that those two have an incredibly close relationship/are a couple but itâs never âWe have to kiss in front of everybody every two secondsâ-obvious. And I like that very much - not that I have anything against such a display, but itâs something you donât see everyday imo. So I guess itâs them.Aand of course I also appreciate the chemistry of Hendrickson and Dreyfus and Arcadios and Hisui. Hendy and Dreyfus know each other for almost thirty freaking years, so they, well, are more than just friends, or brothers-in-arms, because in my eyes theyâre a family.And Arcadios and HisuiâŚwell, when it came to this certain plan that involved screwing the original Eclipse-plan over and using the Eclipse-gate to bomb a few thousand dragons AND when we consider the fact that a guy from the future came back with a bunch of doom-prophecies and Arcadios was the only one who truly knew what was going on besides the princess herself, because she only told himâŚthatâs a lot of trust there. I mean she told this knight and kept her father in the dark, just imagine that!  And he goes everywhere she goes, would basically die for her and she trusts him above all othersâŚ~
23. Which of your ships deserve better writing?Huh. My favs are mostly secondary characters so, well, every single one deserves better writing! Better writing in this case â more appearances :âD
24. Do you mostly ship canon pairings?Nope, I tend to stick with non-canon pairings, tbh. Although there are exceptions of course, Kanera from Star Wars Rebels being one, for example.
25. Have you ever shipped a pairing before you even started watching the show/movie simply because of gifs and graphics or similar?Not that I can remember, no. I need to kind of know the characters before I start to ship them, shipping solely because of âOh they look cute togetherâ is something I really donât like and therefore donât do.
26. Have you noticed a pattern in your shipping? Is there a romantic dynamic youâre more drawn to?Ahaha, yep! Iâve grown to reaaaally like relations between characters that are fiercely loyal to one another - and mostly if itâs something like a person and that personâs bodyguard/knight/servant. I really like stuff like that~ <3
27. Is there a ship youâve shipped for most of your life?Not really, I guess the one Iâve (actively) shipped the longest up until now is ArcaSui. But Iâve known Roslin x Adama since I was little, but I didnât really ship it activelyâŚbut if I had to pick one itâd be it. Or maybe Illidan x Kael'thas. Iâve never really shipped it really intensely, but Iâve always enjoyed reading some fanfiction about this ship~
28. Does shipping come easily to you?That depends on the show, to be fully honestâŚsometimes it happens in a flash (like for example in the movie Leap! where I found a ship in the middle of the movie and squealed my head of at the endâŚehehe ) and sometimes it really takes a while.

Do you need to ship something to really enjoy a movie/book/tv show/comic?Not really, but I really need a favorite character, otherwise the show/the book/whatever is justâŚwell, a show/book/whatever like any other. It needs something specific so that I can set it apart from the rest and if that something is a ship then yay!
30. Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships.I tend to have a few smaller ships when Iâm in a fandom a longer time, but I guess Gankutsuou would be one? I like to read doujinshi but I donât really ship something. YuGiOh! would be another one and apart from that I canât really think of one. Â

Talk about one of your favorite headcanons for a ship you love.ArcaSui:Arcadios is a serious and not very talkative man, but heâs incredibly observant and learned to notice little quirks and âanomaliesâ in the behaviour of others. And Hisui is able to read his little quirks like a book, because she knows him so well that heâs sometimes not able to hide if something is bothering him or what he is thinking. Apart from thatâŚitâs more or less canon that Hisui was suffering from depressions after Eclipse and that disaster with the dragons and I like to think that Arcadios comforted her during that time. With âcomfortingâ having meanings can be simply listening to her, reassuring her a thousand times and telling her that it wasnât her fault, spending more time with her than usual and comforting her when she has breakdownsâŚin short, heâs there for her (in an incredibly awkward way at the beginning because heâs not really used to doing such things but hell for his princess heâs definitely going to try), for which she is incredibly thankful. After she gets better she returns that favour and listens to him, something I imagine no one else really does, because he is a really pensive man (and also not used to talk about what he thinks, feels, etc. which makes this again really awkward). So in short itâs fluff, fluff and more fluff, full of cuddles, awkward situations and two sweethearts opening their hearts~ <3 Â

37. Do you have a favorite trope and/or AU for your OTP?âBright Lady and White Knightâ Iâm a sucker for knights and relationships involving knights and princesses, and most of all mutual loyalty, so this. So much this.
38. Do you like and use ship names?Yup! I do. Mostly because I donât like to aaaalways spell out the names when I talk/write about a ship, so I mostly go with the more common names that are a mixup of the characterâs names. Like for example ArcaSui or HenDrey or Jivia or NaLu, or something like that.But the ship names that are for example really popular in the PokĂŠmon-Fandom like Perfectworld or Kingsrock or Pokeshipping or AbsoluteControlâŚ.are pretty cool as well. (the-inu once made one in this manner for ArcaSui and called it Jade Knight. And I have to say I am very, very fond of this title.)

Is there a fictional relationship youâd really want for yourself?I never really thought about this question but right now I guess itâd be something like the relationship between Hendrickson and Dreyfus, because theyâre so close that theyâve become brothers of sorts (but minus the whole demon-possession part thank you very much)
40. If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be?Honestly?Only their number of appearances in the manga. Thatâs all. I lovethem the way they are.

Gives nose/forehead kisses:Look at his nose, how can you NOT kiss that?? So, Hisui for nose kisses! (has something to do with her not being able to reach his forehead I guess so the forehead-kiss is Arcadiosâ part.)
Gets jealous the most:Both, a bit. To a certain extend thatâs kinda cute if you ask me xD (Just look at Hisui covering his eyes in the anime - although that scene was ooc for him if you ask me because he wouldnât ogle a woman thatâs obivously uncomfortable with it, but thatâs a different story~) AndâŚletâs just say, he mastered the art of killing with gazes. c:
Picks the other up from the bar when theyâre too drunk to drive:Uh, none. When he has work to do, which is nearly always, he wonât allow himself to get drunk or even go drinking. And Hisui will rarely visit bars and when she does she wonât get drunk either :âD (If itâs a celebration or a feast of sorts however itâs an entirely different story~ but I imagine both of them not exactly wanting to push their limits in that matter.)
Takes care of on sick days:If either of them gets sick the other will play the part of the caring nurse that much is sure xDBut he will play every illness down and say itâs nothing and sheâll overreact as soon as she so much as catches a cold and THEN try to play it down xD
Drags the other person out into the water on beach day:Hisui. Definitely!
Gives unprompted massages:That would be Arcadios! And I can imagine Hisui trying to do that as well to thank him~
Drives/rides shotgun: Arcadios drives and Hisui rides shotgun!
Brings the other lunch at work:I can imagine both of them doing this. Hisui, because she KNOWS heâs gonna forget to eat on really intense days and heâs gonna do it when he has free timeâŚwhich definitely wonât happen often, but occasionally.(And I think that he indeed can cook - or is at least average when it comes to chores, since heâs a soldier. He needs to be able to take care of himself, after all. As for HisuiâŚwell sheâs a princess, she doesnât need to be able to cook or do chores :âD )
Has the better parental relationship:Hisui, definitely.

Firmly believes in couples costumes:Oh thatâs so Hisui. Arcadios will think itâs ridiculous and unneccessary (maybe even embarassing) but will do it when he can see that it makes her happy xD And she knoooo~ws that~ (And just imagine them as pirates or something! xD)
Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Ugh, thatâs SO Arcadios. (You canât exactly compete with a princess when it comes to expensive gifts but HELL heâs gonna try!)
Makes the other eat breakfast: Hisui. With the load of work (and the fairly small amount of sleep according to the dark circles under his eyes) he seemingly has to deal with, he surely tends to forget it.

Brings up having kids:Well, Arcadios wouldnât because she could feel forced and thatâs obviously the last thing he wants (although she wouldnât feel that way I guess but heâs way to careful with that). Same thing for Hisui.

Picks the other up from the bar when theyâre too drunk to drive: ahahAHAHA Hendrickson. Definitely. Or theyâre just getting drunk together~!
Takes care of on sick days: Hendrickson. Heâs a druid, so he should know how to stay healthy, what herbs are good and stuff.
