Bulbasaur Charmander Cyndaquil and Wooper!!
Bulbasaur: What is the first Pokemon game you ever owned?
Pokemon Red Version! I rocked the cart from the start!
Charmander: Who was your first Pokemon?
If we’re being technical, Charmander, but when I finally learned how to SAVE the first full run I completed was one where I chose Bulbasaur!
Cyndaquil: Which is your least favourite region?
This question is a bit of a crapshoot. I don’t genuinely dislike any of the regions, but if I had to pick... Kalos. If only because it is in DIRE need of extra content at this stage. (Keep in mind I have not had the chance to play Sun or Moon yet, so I have no opinion on Alola. Haven’t played Colosseum or the first and 3rd Pokemon Ranger games either, so no opinions on Fiorre, Orre, or Oblivia. Or Ranse from conquest for that matter 0n0)
Wooper: What do you like more, battles or contests?
I enjoy battles much more than contests, as they have been fleshed out well over the years.
TBH I feel as though contests have been shortchanged (FYI I have not played ORAS, so I have not been able to try the Contest Spectaculars at all, so bear that in mind.) If given as much care as the battle system has gotten over the years, I honestly feel the contests would be an amazing alternative style of gameplay! Heck, becoming a top coordinator would be a great alternative route to play through as its own campaign. Plus, contests do give Pokemon that fall short in battles more purpose, as it’s more about spectacle than strength.
That’s not to say I don’t have my qualms with battles. After a certain point it gets to be a tedious routine of going around, mowing down trainer after trainer. The system has a lot more depth than the main games show in the campaign, and the real meat of the battling is often left to postgame stuff, and even then most games that do feature it tend to tape gimmicks onto it that bogs down the experience. However, in cases where the gimmicks are not present and the gloves come off, you face some of the most engaging challenges in the whole series.
