Facebook won’t let me change my name because it’s not a ‘real name’ otp(s) + shipname(s): Oh jeez uhhhh…I like jinshi/maomao, hua cheng/xie lian, and I’m sure there are more but I don’t really ship anymore 😂 favourite colour: I usually dress in black, but purple is my favorite! Blue-purples, cause sometimes they can get too red song stuck in your head: it rotates, usually the last song I’ve listened to, this time it’s dream boy by waterparks. Tbh I listen to music constantly so I tend not to have downtime to get a song stuck lol weirdest habit/trait: everything is in threes (ocd) or that without my glasses I can’t focus on doing things Hobbies: I’m an art person - paint (acrylic, watercolor, gouache), drawing (pencils, markers, paint pens), coloring, sewing, jewelry/pin making, linocutting, legit I’ll try anything once! I also love to play board games, card games, and video games, read a lot, cook and bake! If you work, what's your profession?: Currently unemployed 😫 tho I worked as a tech help desk person - don’t recommend if you could have any job you wish, what would it be?: I’d love to do art, or a librarian! Or open my own art store something you're good at: Singing and art! something you hate: things that are sticky on my hands that I can’t get off something you collect: I’ll collect anything - I’ve got a tarot deck collection, dice collection, all the mildliners that they had at the time, anything that is a set (like an art supply) I want the full range. Currently this is Ohuhu markers lol. Book series - as a kid I collected the warrior cats books, had the first three series and a few something you forget: dates of things, if I don’t write it down it doesn’t exist What's your love language: I love giving people the perfect gift, and spending time with people! Favourite movie/show: favorite movie is the 1980s Anne of Green Gables, and current favorite show is The Apothecary Diaries Favourite food: oh that’s hard…I love the Korean beef recipe I have, but I also love tacos, pizza, and a good sandwich Favourite animal: owls or cats! what were you like as a child: oh man, I don’t have a lot of memories of my childhood, but I loved to learn and read, also loved to go outside! Now I dislike going outside, but still love to learn and read! Favourite subject at school: in high school I loved math because it was so formulaic! Give me a thing to follow and I’ll do well lol. In college I was really good at reading law cases for my poli sci classes for my major Least favourite subject: depended, I hated choir in high school because the teacher was a bitch, and 12th grade English sucked. In college I hated my qualitative data class, and the politics and media class I took What's your best character trait?: I can be really kind, I’m hard working (when I am invested), and creative What's your worst character trait?: I have a hard time doing things and getting out of bed when I don’t have a reason to. I’m also really petty - you make me mad/angry and I’ll never forget it. If you could change any detail of your life right now, what would it be?: job 😭 If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?: ohhhhhh too many choices! Frank's Rooms #1-3 are all saying the same basic thing.

Not sure if this counts as "weird" but it was a very weird experience for me: Fullmetal Alchemist. This one is a bit longer, though you can watch the whole thing in one go on Netflix or something.

I really liked this year's US Men's championship (which Hanyu won), mostly because of Jeremy Abbott's program to The Wasp Factory, which was (at the time) a new program with music I had never heard before, but it has a really cool electronic soundtrack, and it's the kind of program that makes you wonder why more people don't do stuff like this. (I think Jeremy Abbott is an interesting skater in general, and although he doesn't seem to be all that consistently "the best" he has a cool range of both off-the-wall music and stuff that's just kind of . . . quietly intriguing?)

Frank: I was reading that Florida has the second lowest per capita income in the US . . . so I think that gives the Panthers a nice underdog angle! (That, plus the name, is the real story behind the Panthers, don't let those Blackhawks fans fool you.) I hope the Panthers win (again), though I do want to see the Blue Jackets make the Stanley Cup someday . . . I think they have an interesting, unique conceptual angle in being a team based in a large and resource-rich country that doesn't really have any NHL teams (they're about 1/3 the size of Ontario and have less than 1/100th the population) . . .

In almost all cases, seek out the most elegant solution to a problem. Again, don't give up efficiency to reduce mental effort. Keeping the mental model of the machine in mind helps here, because you won't end up writing something as slow as possible on purpose, then end up speeding it up by adding some low-level optimization later, which adds to your mental load and increases the maintenance effort. If you can, start with the most straightforward and elegant way of solving a problem, and if it's too inefficient (or otherwise unsatisfactory in some other way), just start over with something else.
