Hi Frank, you got any anime recommendations? I haven't watched anime in years besides Mob Pyscho 100 but I just started Nichijou and I'm planning on watching Cowboy Bebop at some point.

You should try Ghibli movies, if you haven't seen them. They're like the "gold standard" for good animation and the stories are pretty good too.
In the "weird stuff" category, I second kayas-lament. The one that comes to mind is Serial Experiments Lain. (It's not very deep or well-executed or even very good, but it's a trip)
Not sure if this counts as "weird" but it was a very weird experience for me: Fullmetal Alchemist. This one is a bit longer, though you can watch the whole thing in one go on Netflix or something.
