Hello fellow wastelander! I’m on the other side of the Mojave but love spending my days out here with the Joshua trees and desert tortoises
Say hello to the desert for me, please, I miss it dearly.
3, 19, 30?
3) We have a hard time picking singular favorites, so:
Favorite by The Mountain Goats: Waylon Jennings Live!
Favorite by The Killers: Spaceman
Favorite by Seeming: Nova
Favorite by someone else: Bremen by PigPen Theater Co.
19) I don't really listen to much metal anymore. When we were younger, we liked "bro country" because that was what was on at home, but we've grown a music taste since then.
30) Related to the last answer, Neon Light by Blake Shelton makes me think about the 2015 ECHL playoffs.
I'm really not portraying myself as someone with decent music taste here, huh?
💙🌼🌔 for the system ask game! (other blog doesn't have asks enabled so sending it here 😭)
💙 — If there are certain plural terms that your system doesn't like what are they? And why?
Controversial opinion hour here at @sed-victa-catoni. Fun!
Least controversial statement first: most of us don't consider introjection to be an accurate description of the process that brought us here, so we don't use introject. We prefer walk-in. We also don't use fictive much because it gets defined as "fictional introject" too often, so we go by fictionkin. We don't use role language because we don't think we fit into categories like that very well, and because we think we're all shacked up in a body together for a defined reason that isn't brain employment. We refuse to use origin labels. If pressed, we make a quasi-joke about Nevada. We do recognize that origin theories... exist, and we guess a lot of other people find granular ways of categorizing them useful, but we think they're kind of a grift and do a lot more harm to the community than help. Also, traumagenic vs endogenic is a false binary. Consciousness labels feel just as much like a false binary as traumagenic vs endogenic, but we aren't even convinced the underlying framework there exists in a meaningful sense. So we aren't using those either. Funnily enough, we're fine with alter, because some people think "It makes me sound like a kickass giant robot."
🌼 — If you could describe your system in words that have nothing to do with plurality or spirituality, how would you?
How being plural feels: living a double life several times over. Roommates who share a bank account. That guy sure does have the same social security number as I do.
The people we are: Travellers. Anachronistic in both directions. Marked by a sense of decay, rusted old factories, falling-down barns on the prairie, unfinished subdivisions in the Sun Belt. 2008, 2020, 2025. Interested in most forms of Americania. Pretty convinced everyone speaks in dialouge trees. Very online.
🌔 — Are there any headmates who struggle with modern technology? If so why?
"Has an uneasy relationship with" is usually a better way to put it than "struggles". Grant is a computer programmer who was born in 1951 and checked out of reality in 1999. He's not really happy to be using Windows 10. Tycho doesn't understand the purpose of a car except as an aid for people who have a hard time walking. Someone from Roman-era Ethiopia turned up once and refused to front because the cars frighetened him, but even that guy could drive. We tend to keep our body's skills while loudly complaining about it.
