The Cedar Family

Andreas Cedar is the town's lumberjack. He's a fortune sim married to Mary, the redhead and another fortune sim. They're recently married, and when she moved in, Mary brought little Arthur. She promises Arthur isn't hers. He probably isn't, but he's gonna live with them until either his real parents reveal themselves or until things become too dire and they need the space.

Holding him is Jane, Andreas' sister who is going to move out because she's a servant for Mr Pelehan, but not an indentured one. In fact, Jane has a savings accounts.

So does little Arthur and so the Cedars might get one too since they are so far the only member of their social class not to owe the Pelehans any money. This is a big benefit for them because they will likely have kids of their own and savings might mean their kids can have a proper future. Farmer kids who don't get enough to start their own farms end up as servants.

The Miller family.

Ogden Miller, a very old romance sim, is moving out right away to serve his sentence for a crime as a servant to Mr Pelehan.

Jeffrey Miller, his son, is a family sim and a widower. He's in quite a pickle, financially. The family owes Mr Pelehan 9000 simoleons, and if that debt runs up to 10K he will have to sell the farm and become a servant himself. He can sell one of his kids into indentured servitude as a last resource, and at least he has three of them, but two toddlers in the house also means he won't be able to work as much, and he was to deliver 300 food points each season. As a result, Jeffrey is very keen to get married as soon as he can. Hopefully to a sim who will bring in some money.

Their farm grows grain and vegetables (the sacks on the front lawn will go into Jeffrey's inventory as soon as they move in so he can fertilize his fields.) In their little farm shop they sell what they can spare, which won't be much at start. Their house currently has pretty much nothing. That'll change though!

His oldest daughter is Adelia, a shy little girl, who likes to help her dad take care of plants and forages whatever she can in her spare time. When Adelia grows up she'd like the farm to have cows again.

The Carpenter family

Meaghan Carpenter is the town's, well, carpenter, and lives in a tiny house with her husband Michael who does pretty much nothing yet.

They're both agreed: one kid will be enough and instead of saving every penny they have, they're gonna leave their kid with an awesome house instead. Once Meaghan has time to build them more furniture, of course.

They're sure the kids will come soon, and in the meantime enjoy their time alone.

Through contracts, Meaghan will every season receive 15 logs from Andreas Cedar, and 10 boxes of nails from Ridley Smith. Technically, she gets these things from Mr Pelehan of course, whom she has to deliver furniture to every season. Michael is allowed to go mining or logging once per season to help her with more resources if he has time. There are very few jobs available for farmer class.

The McCleary Family

Successful Merchant family.

Elizabeth McCleary runs the book shop and is rumoured to be a witch. She isn't, because she only rolled 7 on a d12 and she needed an 8, so if she gets the option, she's going to go for it and then not tell anyone.

She's married to Gordon who is unemployed but his class lets him become an Architect if he's the first to 10 mechanical points and then gets lucky with the paper before Tor Ellsworth.

They also have Elizabeth's brother Evan living with them, and Evan is in charge of training the dogs and also help out in the shop when they need him to. Evan has some savings, but not enough to stay as a merchant on his own so he lives here until he either faces reality and becomes a farmer, or marries up.

They also have two dogs, Ms Dashwood and Mr Darcy, that they'll be breeding for fun and profit.

As merchants, the McClearys pay a higher tax than the farmer class, but it's not going to be much of a problem for them. Their greatest problem right now is that the Ellsworths have moved in across the square. While not rivals in business, the Ellsworths are rivals for the attention of Mr Pelehan, and them already having children is definite rivalry for the future marriage alliance the McCleary's have hoped for when they have children, to Mr Pelehan's ward or to a legitimate heir.
