Jotaro hummed as he roamed through the small Japanese home, pulling a variety of pans from the shelves and setting them on the burners to heat up. He always had some form of small breakfast, regardless of how healthy it was or not. He had eggs and milk here.
"No," a curt response while he threw butter into the pan, blearily eyeballing the carton of milk for a brief moment. He married early on in College after he got Bethany pregnant, though that wasn't supposed to happen. All long wondering what was wrong with him, why he wasn't particularly attracted to anyone through out his teenage years eventually came to that point. The worst thing was, he didn't really feel anything for his current wife.
But everyone always said, if you ended up creating a child, you had to marry. Bethany had her own words, written in gold around her ankle, but it weren't the words he said to her. Some people just didn't look for soul mates, a waste of time or simply not enough time. It was always chance, fate as it were. Jotaro messed up but they agreed to marry and make it work.
It didn't work out that way.
The marine biologist cracked a few eggs and a splash of milk into a bowl and had Star Platinum whisk it while he grabbed salt and pepper from a cabinet. pouring those in without really looking.
"I only believed in that sort of thing in grade school. Mom used to tell me about it, turned out my father and her were a match made, but like my grandfather and grandma Suzy Q who had two different lines on both their bodies." He gave a shrug, turning back to pour the mix into the sizzling pan.
"I heard many people don't bother to find their soul mates and settle down with someone else. Despite my mother's words, I was content with that," or rather, he didn't care. A fairy tale. Society told him everything he didn't feel was wrong. He tried and in the end it didn't work out. All he managed to do was make himself a little more miserable.
"Since mine is along my spine, it's easy to forget about. I don't think I can remember what it says anymore."
