Yare Yare

         Half the time his nightmares got worse and he found himself leaving home more and more to walk the beach barefoot. Found himself sleeping on benches or in cafes he visited when he needed coffee. His pantry was stocked with too  much food and no one to share it with. Star Pastel was getting more and more anxious, he could feel it at the back of his mind when the Stand got restless. Too many broken coffee cups and little knick-knacks he picked up.

          It was truly a pain in the ass. Sleep was no friend. Jotaro had looked in the mirror several times and noted the dark circles under his eyes. Something had to give at this point. Isolating himself was no longer an option anymore, he needed to interact with someone who wasn't Star Pastel or his reflection. Luckily, the next semester had started, his students back from their winter break. It wasn't enough to bring the weight off his shoulders but it was enough to take the edge off.

          As soon as class was over, it was back to the daily grind of surviving the next day. If stress wasn't going to kill him, something else would. The marine biologist wasn't sure if that would be a good thing or not and the silent, wordless suggestion enter his mind, no doubt from his Stand.

          Get help.

          His silent reply: But where?

     “That sounds good to me. I don’t have anything scheduled for tonight or tomorrow evening, if you…” He trails off as Jotaro continues, his gaze flickering up before settling on the man’s hat.

     The lump in his throat is audible the next he speaks, his voice slightly strained. “No. Mon usager isn’t here–or I haven’t found him yet. But let’s not talk about that. I’d rather know how things in your world are compared to mine.”

          The one thing Jotaro had been learning recently that Stands had room for their own free will. He had to wonder if the personality fell close to the user's, but it wasn't something he really wanted to look into. Star Pastel acted subconsciously nearly all the time. Between Star Platinum and now Silver Chariot, he was starting to see a pattern. Both looked weary, self determination didn't come as naturally as it did to humans.

     A nod of greeting in Elder Pastel’s direction and his boots unbind themselves from his feet upon crossing the threshold. From there he drifts straight to the doctor. As much as he’s nagged by curiosity over the new apartment, he’s here to clean. Hands resting on his hips to keep from putting up his fists out of habit, he casually replies,

⦑ Not at all. During one of the experiments I was trapped down here for two weeks. Got familiar with the layout. What’s been done thus far? ⦒

He does his best not to drown out the music. The energy in the apartment is relaxed and he’s not about to disrupt that. While it’s not the most obvious trait of the Star Card as far as Star Platinum is concerned, he brings chill vibes when they’re needed.

          Jotaro held the broom idly, glanced through the main room and the small open plan they had in these particular apartments. Smaller than those in the main city, there were only two bedrooms. His recent room mate didn't leave much of a mess thankfully but a mess still.

          “The vacant bedroom is fairly clean. The kitchen and main room not so much. Don't worry about my room it's just full of paperwork I need to sift through,” Jotaro replied. The bathroom was kept clean daily, his personal preference.

          “Not a huge mess but I'd like to see it cleaned up every now and again.” Now back to what Star Platinum had said, an eyebrow quirked up before he started to sweep the pile of dust bunnies and other small time debris he gathered up.
