For the longest time, Onoda was wavering between the first two categories. When in fact he should be making a fourth category: people he likes. Genuinely likes.

Oh sure, he liked Fuku-chan and Kin-chan, but he liked them in a different way. He respected them. Onoda, on the other hand, he genuinely liked him and didn’t put him on the same pedestal or plane as the aces.

He liked that Onoda was honest, in the way that Arakita himself couldn’t be. He was pure and good natured. Arakita liked purity. It made things simple. Strong people are pure because they are so single minded that they let nothing hold them back. He respected that. But he also liked Onoda.
