@arachnido // LIKED FOR AN ALOIS STARTER
“I THINK I should like to host a ball tomorrow.”
THOUGH NOT AN unusual request, there was definitely something a bit more excited, a little more eager than was normal in Alois’s expression. He’d hardly been able to concentrate all day, his studies having fallen on deaf ears, his bright mood dragging him from place to place in the Trancy mansion as he sought out entertainment for himself. There was a reason for it, though, not just one of his frequent bouts of inconsistently high energy.
TOMORROW WAS THE anniversary of his so-called father’s death. The day the old man had perished from a mysterious infected; the day Alois’s life had secured itself for the better, with the money and power necessary to avoid repeating any of the terrible things he’d endured up until that point. It was a cause for celebration in his eyes, and he poked and prodded absently at his lunch as he looked up at Claude by his side, eagerness plain on his pale face.
“WELL?” HE ASKED, quite impatient. “What do you think? You could prepare a ball for me by tomorrow, couldn’t you, Claude?”
