Hi there, before i start this paragraph i want to say i am not jewish, i am someone who grow in a family with an islam religion. I do have complicated relationship with my own religion, but that just me. And things that i will speak to you here, will be filled with islamophobia and antisemitism.
If in this time, you cannot read fully what i said, i just want to say thanks to you and alot of jewish bloggers here who speaks out loud about how we can support palestine without being antisemitistic. And how so fucking strong for all of you to go throught all of this people that have been harassing you.
After october 7th, there is a terrifying thing happenned within my country which is mostly filled with Muslim people and Astaghfirullah, the extremist antisemistic people here are fucking loud. I do genuinely think they see this israel and palestanian war as a "Holy War" between Islam and Judaism, which is both islamophobic and antisemistic. They do not care about what happenned in palestine, the fucking extremist here genuinely wears a palestine flag as a march for antilgbt protest on a concert ( who the singer does support lgbt ) that literally does not have any lgbt element to it or anything to do with the palestine and Israel conflict. Fucking insulting in all honesty
The people here are fucking harassing israel people just because they are israel. The people here are boycotting israel product that is just, made by jewish people or just made by someone who is on israel. They do not care if its part of the official Boycott program to support palestine. They just care if the product support israel occupation ( which by the way, people just believed that without looking further to what it means because, yes as expected, could literally just be made by someone who is jewish. )
When my friend ask me about the palestine and israel situation, i was so ready to be mocked and insulted. And the relief in my face and their face when we realized both of us are in support of human rights and care about the situation of people living in them, that we just want both side to be in a peace for muslim and jewish people to be in peace, is honestly the best day of my life, because i choose the right friend to have, we do need to explain to one of our friend who doesnt understand, but when they do get explained they said "oh! I learned alot today, thanks for that"
i think im quiet grateful for my friends in real life that get to see the humanity problems instead of seeing it as a religion fight. And yes i do know that judaism isnt just religion, and for alot of people to ignore that and just be antisemistic, is extremely insulting.
And truly from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much again, because of you and alot of jewish blogs, bloggers that give link to donations for palestine and for israel people, bloggers who fact checked twitter post, bloggers who post news article instead of just a headline, bloggers who kindly gives a link history books or articles about the situation and bloggers who express their feeling towards the situation even knowing they will get antisemitism response.
I myself are not an online person, personally, dealing with islamophobic comments all day is something that truly have broken my mind to the point i just made an empty blog and tell my opinions to my irl friends or online friends privately. Because of my living condition, i only speak about my views throught peoples in real life and help them by giving them some of the things i have learned and gave them a link to books and articles and tell them to fact check it if im wrong. But i hope what i do, even for me extremely small, helps people to have a much more critical thinking mind.
And for a last word from me to you, insyaallah, there will be peace for us one day, im sure of it. And maybe if it doesnt come, hope we still love for each other. Amiin.
And i guess last last note, sorry if my words are complicated english isnt my first language, but i hope i get my point across, and please do let me know if there is something wrong in my wording!
yes, i think many people view the i/p conflict as a holy war. they don't care about the lives of palestinians or israelis, they only want violence. israelis & palestinians are so often dehumanised by those who claim to support them.
a lot of people would rather spend their time being hateful than helping those in need. they don't sow seeds of peace & condemn this endless cycle of devastation - because they find it entertaining. it's deeply cruel.
the way we have all been treated - palestinians, israelis, jews, muslims & arabs - has been heartbreaking. we all deserve better. & we don't deserve to suffer due to the behaviour of those with no ties to this conflict.
i fight for both israelis & palestinians to have autonomy & freedom from oppressive rule. i wish for a home for all, where everyone can be safe & finally live in peace.
peace will come upon all of us; i'm sure of it too. it may feel out of reach but we can't give up.
anon, thank you for taking the time to share your eloquent perspective. your kind message means a lot to me & i'm sure others will find it comforting, too. i'm glad you have offline friends you can depend on for nuanced discussions; i hope you keep each other close. be safe & well. <3
