Hey guys! Thank you (شكراً) to all of my new followers!
Hopefully this summer I will utilize this blog more. I need to really crack down on my Arabic since I will be doing my capstone next semester and I basically went without practicing for half the year. So, I pretty much forgot so much, especially more of the complex grammar that I learned in the Fall semester.
So, I plan to put up more of my Arabic studying stuff.
Day 3 | 08.17.2019
These are my first two pages of كتابي العربي . One way I try to remember vocabulary is by writing the word a couple of times. While doing this after every word I write, I say it out loud.
Arabic Basics #1
The Alphabet:
There are 28 letters in the Arabic alphabet.
Of these 28 letters, there are 3 vowels (I will get to this in another post)
Each letter has 3 positions it can be in (I will get to this in another post):
- initial (start/beginning)
- medial (middle)
- final (end)
In each of these positions the letters will take a different shape (I will get to this in another post).

This is the alphabet; you read it from right to left.
For me, knowing the order is not as important as just getting to know all of the letters there. I still get confused on the order.
But if you are not like me, or just want to be a better student, then I would take some time to know the order.

اليوم كان اليوم الاول من الصف العربي!
Today was the first day of Arabic class! I'm really excited for this semester.
بعد الصف، ذهبت الى مكتب استاذتي...
After class I went to my teacher's office... So that she could look over the sentences I did over the summer. I seems to have a reoccurring problem. I try to translate a sentences directly from the English. I always forget that I can't do that because of the different grammars.

I'll be sharing what I learn in class and hopefully sharing it will not only help you but me as well. If you notice that my Arabic sentences are wrong, please correct me. I'm still learning.

This is a stack of مفرداتي (some of it) that I've learned from freshman year. I need to go over it again before school starts because lord knows I forgot most of them.

My summer setup is pretty basic. I use a gel pen to outline and a ballpoint to write. My notebook is a Picadilly bullet journal. I bought the DK Visual Arabic English dictionary almost 2 years ago and just got around to using it [literally]. I only know about 9 words.
