Number 3 for @armandrinksss #aprilopen10 the Game of Thrones House Lannister – Lagavulin 9 Year Old bottled at 46%  Most people probably opened this during the season premiere but I was sick! This is most definitely an Islay from start to finish! There is roaring (🦁😉) peat on the nose which is followed by some fruitiness and a touch of spice which is then finished with smoke and a richness I can't quite pick. The richness is why I'm guessing Lannister was paired with Lagavulin. Smoke is not what I associate with them. A great dram and we'll see if this Lannister survives the final season! This Booker's 2018.02 Backyard BBQ is another open for @armandrinksss #aprilopen10 Bottled at 64.40% uncut and unfiltered, this not for the faint of hearted. I think it really needs a couple drops of water to enjoy it properly. Without water it has a kick like no other and really brings the heat. With water that heat is gone and you can enjoy the rich flavour. It starts out with a great nose that wafts out of the bottle with brown sugar, vanilla and woody aromas. This then followed on by warmth and alight sweetness of caramel, nuts and some spice. It then concludes with a very very very long spicy finish A great slow sipper and a perfect choice on this Wednesday night. I'm very happy to have two of these in the collection and they will be enjoyed. it's not your average bourbon but should be tried and respected.
