Things were tough, as always, thats just how these things go. Atlas had been overstimulating himself with their magic, and Alya had tried her best to stop them. "your hurting your self sweetie, you know you don't have to try so hard, right?" they huffed and sighed into her shoulder, leaning into her touch as she stroked his hair. "it's just, easier to get a hit on them if I use it, I've lost my touch, im not as good as I was a few months ago, ever since..." they paused and looked at the small healing wound in their chest. "I just can't seem to get a good shot like this anymore" he sighed, looking up at alya. "why do you tolerate me? why do you sit here, trying to convince me to stop hurting myself? what if it doesn't matter in the long run, what if you can't help me while we're together?" alya lifts their head to look back at him. " 'while we're together' atlas you say that like im going away, like im leaving you, like we won't last" Atlas looks down at his feet. "I don't understand while you stay with my miserable ass" alya giggles, "because your my miserable ass, and because..." she pauses and places a gentle kiss on their forehead, like she might break them if she tried any harder," I want to spend the rest of my life with you" she pauses, gently coxing him back into her arms. "you do?" she smiles down at them, who has now sat their had in her lap, and is directly staring up at her. Though, the pouty lip is still there. "of course, you make me the happiest ive been in a while baby" they grin up at her. "now, promise to stop using your magic so much!" Atlas pauses and looks like he's about to roll his eyes so hard they roll into the back of his head. "but what if-" she shuts him up, "you'll get better, you just need practice" he sighs and leans into the hand that she now places under his chin. "okay"
